Why would a vehicle not show up on vehicle enquiry gov site?

This merc. On the site www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk you know under the vehicle enquiry tab. I've tried it as both merc and merc-benz but nothing. It is on askmid.
any ideas?

Re-assigned to another car and not swapped teh plates over yet?

Showing on Autotrader as:

BLACK, 2001 UNKNOWN UNKNOWN COUPE

So probably a "broken record" in DVLA that is propagating out to the other databases. Import maybe?

When cars are registered its got to be admin team that input the information.... Blame the dealer.

Can easily be updated with a photo of the vehicle and appropriate form to the dvla.
