Hi All,

I'm am soon to be travelling to Canada and will be there for 10 days, as it's such a vast country I plan on renting a car, the only problem with that is that I am 21. I have checked all major rental companies and they all add a young driver's surcharge on to the total. I have had a decent scout around to look for promotional codes to reduce the price but to no avail.

Does anyone know of any rental companies that don't add a young driver's surcharge, or know of any promotional codes that would equalise the charges?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Connor

Try asking on the flyertalk forums, they have really good info on rentals.

Try via your airline or travel agent you booked with.

Cnnor,

The young driver surcharge is usually charged locally.

Try Carhire3000.com or call them and speak with their booking agent, they are usually able to give you a package and it does reduce the price.

Unfortunately (I have experience of this) being under 25 does make car rental more expensive but there isn't much you can do about it.

Be careful in Canada, the speed limit is woefully slow and in some areas, the police are pretty particular about speeding.

Thanks for the replies, I did manage to get it $8 a day which I thought was pretty reasonable as some companies were charging $35 per day which is ridiculous!

Only 3 days to go... I'm on the countdown.
