I have a set of diamond cut wheels that I need the lacquer taking off of as its pretty shocking. How do I go about it? I don't have the money or resources to take them to someone with a CNC machine to grind them down right now, all I want to do is get the Lacquer off.

Will a metal polish do it, or sandpaper with a buff up afterwards?

Let me know.

Also, would sandblasting be too much and wreck the diamondcut?

I wouldn't sandblast them tbh. Probably best to leave them as it until you go for a full refurb. Any way you try to remove the lacquer is going to affect the diamond cut finish.

Even via an acid dip or Nitromors?

Sand blasting, Acid dip - aren't those processes going to cost????
Wait a while add a few £10's to the kitty and get them turned properly.

If you just want to take the lacquer off then put some paint gun cleaner on them, what are you planning on doing once its off though? Bare alloy will just be quickly watermarked and look just as bad as flakey lacquer.

find some one who has a aquablast this cleans the diamond cut face and blasts the laquer of.as long as there isnt any corrosion on the face this should be a easy fix otherwise re-cut
