Well, the final part of Vessel is now live. I hope you've all enjoyed it. I've got another book on the go which I'll start blogging soon, so I hope to see you all around for that as well. Until then, please enjoy the closing paragraph of Vessel: http://andrewjamesmorgan.com

If anyone's interested, now Vessel is finished I'll be blogging about the next steps of where the manuscript is going. You can read about it here: http://andrewjamesmorgan.com

I've started another project, too, which I'll also be posting very soon.

Interesting. I've taken a pounding on that review wise recently because people find it too confusing and they don't like the ending, so we'll see what you think overall.
I'll have to admit, the ending seemed a little odd to me. Not sure what I expected but until the last couple of pages I thought it was a great book.

I've actually rejigged the ending recently, from Alex's departure onwards. Would you mind taking a look?

I'm glad you enjoyed (most of) it! Thanks for reading.

I will second that, a great read, and enjoying the process , I can understand why an editor, no way I would undertake finalizing myself! you would read what you think rather than what's on the page. Having said that I also agree with the comment on the ending. But have to say that I have enjoyed the read!

It used to be that you could send a manuscript to an agent that was your own second draft, but being as tough as it is today, it can't hurt to get an editor involved beforehand. Plus, if I don't get an agent and choose to self publish instead, I'll be able to go right ahead.

Just to clarify -- are you talking about the ending of Vessel or Noah's Ark?

I'd be a happy to take a look, if you could email it too me. I go offshore again today, so no wifi for my iPad.

Thank you, sent. Good luck on your . . . mission? Job? What do they call offshore work placements? Anyway, I hope it goes well smile

With a week to wait before the editor finishes, I thought I'd give you all a little sneak peek of what I'm working on next: http://andrewjamesmorgan.com

I read it, thanks, but not too sure it is any more 'complete' or satisfying than the first one. Somehow I was expecting more of an elaborate ending, something massive, rather than something subtle. I did read the book dragged out over a month or more, so maybe I missed the subtle nuances of things.

I think the book was just beyond my abilities at the time. Maybe one day I'll revisit it, but for now it's more work than I'd want to invest in it. New projects ahoy!

I'd say the first 90% of the book was great, really interesting, got me fairly enthralled, but the ending sort of fell apart. frown

What kind of thing were you expecting? At the very least, thankfully I've managed to achieve a more satisfying conclusion with Vessel!

Finished Vessel. Ending ok, but did leave me wanting a little more.

I don't know if this is the case, but it seemed like the ending was a little rushed and a little too easy. Everyone just seemed too happy, especially Sally.

Oh well. Maybe I was expecting a big explosion or fight and I'm a little disappointed that this didn't happen. smile

Interesting feedback, thank you. I was thinking about drawing out the tension in the final showdown, but there won't be any fights or explosions, sorry frown

I need to have a think about it and re-read the ending myself.

Update! Update! I've changed the ending. Just spend the last eight hours rewriting, and I think the improvements are well worth it. I've also rejigged quite a bit of the plot to keep some things secret for longer. Would you like to read it?

Hi Andrew, not forgotten about this at all, I've not had a chance to read much since starting Vessel (which my Kindle says I'm only 11% of the way through at the moment). Once I've had a chance to sit down and do some hardcore reading, I'll post my thoughts!

No hurry! Read at your leisure smile

I'm actually going through editorial comments at the moment, honing the story etc, so it'll be quite different to what you have now if you'd prefer to wait?
