I don't understand Porsches. All that 996 997 gt2 gt3 RS carrera business. I haven't a clue which is which.
I prefer driving my skoda octavia diesel to my dads MK1 focus RS and my wife's Mini Cooper S. I drive the skoda much faster than either of these "hot hatches"
I've always liked modified cars and always will. I'd love a dimma or skeet kitted 80s/90s hatch.
I love driving vans.
I had just as much fun in my wife's 1.2 renault Clio when I first met her as I did in the 306gti I had at the time.

I kind of gave up on all this flashy car stuff ages ago. I swapped my BMW coupe (3 Series, 318iS thingy from about 1995) for a purplish blue Toyota Corolla.
I have to say I much preferred the Corolla. It died, was replaced by various things culminating in a down-at-heel Mazda. Which I really like!

I too don't "get" Porsches. I like well thought out people carriers/MPVs (but won't own one), I still can't get over BMW as a badge and think it's tainted, and I am equally ashamed I own a Mercedes as a result. I'd love my Saab/Alfa back if it wasn't the fact the E500 is so fking awesome.
This week I was driving to work round my favourite B-Road. There's a sequence of tight corners it's not good to enter too quick. I found myself happily driving round them at 50 humming along to Radio 2 instead of nailing it between them and braking for each one individually. I'll hand in my PH card on my way out
I hate big alloys and wide low profile tyres.
I'm a biker but hate riding in a group with others.
I often ride/drive like a knob and go against all my own principles.
I hand wash and polish my new cars for the first few weeks then run them through a carwash once a month after I've got used to it.
I've ridden a Harley and enjoyed it.

I genuinely like Z3s, particularly the facelifts- wider arches and meaty sounding 6 cyl engines with the top down. Rated lower than dog turds by 99% of petrolheads. I've owned 2 mk1 MX5s, and view Z3s as legitimate alternatives, which actually do several things better than the Mazda. Flameproof suit donned, anal lube at the ready.
I do very low annual mileage, and tend to disregard large petrol engined models for a smaller engine or diesel in the same model.
If suspension components go/ are on their way out, I often replace only one side rather than doing both as I should.
I don't really care that much about tyre brand, within reason. Not massively concerned if front and rear are mismatching either.
I will happily use Halfrauds or similar own brand oil over the established manufacturer, if there is a significant saving to be made.
I don't immediately assume that an individual driving a white RR Sport/ Audi 4x4 is a vile human being, although I do acknowledge they are in the 'at risk' category.
I often feel I should be more repelled by a shonky private reg than I actually am.
I will occasionally glance at my phone while driving if I see that it's an important work-related email or similar.
When selling a used car, I will omit certain relatively insignificant faults eg. slow punctures.

I love Metros
Never driven or even been a passenger in one, but love the looks, the "80s"ness of it. Even the name 'Metro'. I don't care how slow/unrefined/iffy handling it is I'd bet it would be more interesting than the equivalent 'supermini'.
Last one I saw, when I was out on red sports bike, was heading in the opposite direction and I'm like "aw yeah a METRO cool!".
However it was being piloted by the most miserable elderly couple I'd ever seen who were glaring back at me? __
Ungrateful bds!

I am rubbish at being a petrol head.
I don't like BMWs, except E30 Tourings. I don't like VWs or Audis either.
I doubt I will ever be brave enough to actually own an Alfa Romeo. Maybe if they do make an Alfa MX-5.
Talking of which, I have never liked or wanted to own an MX-5, a Honda NSX, a Skyline GTR, or anything else Japanese, except for the Nissan Figaro.
I have never wanted a Ford Escort Mk1. My dad had two of them and I thought they were crap.
Apart from a brief period in the late 80s I have never desired a 911.
I'm a biker but I prefer my Vespa to my Triumph. I'm not actually sure I like motorbikes that much at all. I certainly have never been interested in sports bikes.
In town I'd rather ride my bicycle.
And the killer.
In between my first driving lesson and passing my car test 22 years elapsed.
