Please help. this dog was found and is now at Forest Lodge Kennels near Northampton, telephone 01604 862239. She is chipped to the Swindon area, so was possibly stolen. Someone must surely be heartbroken at losing such a lovely little girl. Proof of identification must be given if she is yours.

If she is chipped why have they not located an owner.

It maybe worth contacting local vets to her address they must have her name if she is chipped.

There was an article in one of the papers yesterday that some childs dog was stolen because it looked like William & Kates dog, it looked quite like that one... Maybe in the Express, I cant remember.

You may be surprised at just how many people fail to notify the microchip company when they move.

No not at all. As you can imagine we deal with the issue a lot but even an old address may be able to be located by a vets or the sur name. Most vet databases can track owner details by the chip number alone.

There are a couple of black cockers on www.doglost.co.uk if you filter by breed and south west area. Guess the kennels will have tried this though.

Good luck, I hope she finds her home again.

The answer is to plaster posters around the area she was taken from, and state the level of (monetary) reward.

Around here, dog-napping is a massive problem. 'Go-where-you likeys' steal pedigree pets, wait for the notices to be posted, and then claim the money. £500 being the going rate.

Should the ransom not be forthcoming, the dogs are turned out to fend for themselves.
