Just pondering something at work today, does anyone else on here find themselves being less excited when they see a sportscar or supercar on the street/at an event.

With events like the Sunday Service being fairly regular occurrences, and usually seeing at least one or two really special cars at Motorsport events or shows does anyone else still get really excited in the way more none petrol heads do at the site of cars such as an Enzo or a Zonda for example?

No, winds up my mates a treat as I'll break off conversation and stare transfixed if something interesting drives past.

As excited as ever by super cars and such like, but worryingly more interested in the finer details of boggo cars too!

I think I'm getting older. New lambos, the mp12 thing and the 458 don't interest me at all. To the extent that I genuinely don't think they would be on my lotto list.

Same - Pub gardens are a nightmare for my lot.

I'll smile when something exotic goes past, but smile more if it's a Mini or if it's classic/retro.... but mainly Minis! biggrin

Same here.

I even now find myself thumbing past the road tests and reports of such cars in EVO.

Exactly this

If numbers came up the newest super car would be a Murcielago. Manual

Any cool, unusual, rare or exotic car will get my attention.

I still enjoy ogling supercars - even though I'm less excited about them than I used to be.
Part of this is probably because I work in the industry so seeing all manner of automotive filth is quite literally a daily occurrence for me so I'm probably quite desensitized.

I'd have a Zonda - just like Harry's old one! That would be everything (outrageous looks, speed, silliness) I'd need in a super car. A v10 m5 and an Atom would also be purchased as soon as possible.

I think this is down to identifying with the cars you lusted after in your teens, with anything built after you were in your mid twenties unacceptable.

I'm even warming to a 996... The latest bloated one no thanks!

Yes I do, I find that I have to take some time off from 'cars' (e.g. no Goodwood FOS for the last 2 years) in order not to start taking them for granted frown As Goodwood got closer and closer this year I did start to regret not getting tickets though, to make up for it I made it to Supercar Sunday and two PH Sunday Services (MBW and Aston Martin) so I think I'm on the upwards curve of interest again smile The Aston Martin visit in particular confirmed that in my opinion, the Vantage is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing shapes on the road today.

I'm more excited by STANDARD 80's hot hatches.

Nova Gte, Metro Turbo, 205 1.6 (not the 1.9) Gti, Citroen Visa GT, AX GT, RS Turbo.

But they have to have standard Bodywork and wheels.

My rental car for the week is a brand new Golf Diesel and I'm genuinely impressed with it - sometimes I wonder what's happening to me frown

Good point! A well restored classic Escort will always grab my attention.

I was reflecting on this the other day. 15 years ago I'd stop and stare at any Aston Martin as it was so rare to see one, with a couple of hundred made every year at best. These days I pay them no more interest than a Jaguar XK or something like that, as I see a couple every week.

Same with most exotics, the less exotic they become the less interesting they become. I pay a lot more attention to a rare classic by a long chalk.

I never get bored of great cars.im surrounded by cars all day and big money cars with some of my mates.but I still stop and stare at exotica and rare beasts from 1930' s. on ward.can be a yank tank or a simple clean nova. I swoon massively over mint sapphire cosworths due to my old ownership. Guess I just love to see good cars looked after properly no matter what they are

First few purchases for me would be the following : 22B, Tommi, Escort Cosworth, Integrale, GT4 (ST205), Focus RS (mk1) after that then well possibly a Ferrari 458 that'd do me really no point in being greedy.

I'm more into rarities and competition cars than out and out supercars. If I am interested in a supercar it's for the engineering rather than the performance stats.

I find that at car shows you get sensory overload and there's too much to take in but seeing something random and unannounced on the street still stops me in my tracks. Much prefer to see cars in their natural habitat going about their daily business. I also get as much pleasure from seeing a rare old snotter as I do the latest supercar.

I just love cars. I can usually find something to interest me on even the most mundane and unloved car. A really nice car is an event, whatever it is.
