Hi Mark, replied to your email on this.
My quote was for a FX 3.0D S
I did find it appalling that a company like Infiniti who is trying to develop into a premium brand in the UK would only offer Auto Protect for extended warranties.
As I told Infiniti, this would be a deal breaker for me when I replace the FX as I keep my cars for 5 years, buying up to 1 year old and unless I could get a manufacturers based warranty, I am off to a different brand, which would be a shame as I really like the FX.

No Mark, it is their Customer Relations Manager Nicola Pearce.

Thanks Rob, I have been in touch with Nicola and she has confirmed that Feb/March should see the introduction of the new scheme. I wonder when someone will tell ICR..?

Hi guys, glad to see you're all enjoying your cars still smile

Can anyone direct me to a specific uk FX forum as I want to sell the winter tyres I bought for my old fx50, or will I have to go the old eBay route? Would sooner sell on a dedicated FX forum.

Cheers, Andy

Hi Andy, to the best of my knowledge there isn't really a dedicated forum for the FX. There are a couple of US based forums that I think the odd Brit posts on but I don't think it would be worth advertising there.

Ebay or here would be your best bet. Just a thought but have your tried flogging them to an Infiniti main dealer ?

Missed out in joining the FX Club, a 60k mikes FX50s which I just noticed in the classifieds on Wednesday , was up for £15.5k was too late as the owner traded it in for £14.5k.... Gutted to say the least but also a bit concerned regarding their residuals....

I saw the black FX50 on here too. I remember when Strastones sold it a few months ago I think, cheap car!
Residual values are not great on anything in the Infiniti range but I think provided you buy well at 2 or 3 years old you will get an awful lot of car for very sensible money.

The factory warranty will raise residuals, there is a big drop after the 3rd birthday but now it should be less so.
I got mine at 12 months and will keep till 30 months selling with 6 months warranty.

Totally agree with this comment.
Actually even a 1 year old, they are incredible value for money. Look how much an equivalent X5 would cost you before you try to bring the spec up to a similar level.
The manufacturer's warranty will also strengthen the +3 year old cars residuals.

My local Nissan dealer has 2 Infinitis in a present, as they are in Exeter, I asked him about servicing, and he stated they can now service Infinitis?

I questioned whether Infiniti would honour extended warranty claims and he said they will.

I need to check his as it would save me a trip to Reading from the West Country!

Just been advised by Infiniti Reading, that finally Infiniti will offer a manufacturers extended warranty from Feb next year.
Quote is £900 for 2 years, comprehensive, including European breakdown cover.
This is not the old Auto Protect, but manufacturer backed...great news, but about time for what is trying to be a premium brand manufacturer!
Infinity help line in London know nothing about this - I asked them to check and advise

Not 6 months for the V 8 it's 12 - my first service is due in feb I'm expecting £400 ish
Tyres are a consideration,
This is the first car I have ever had that didn't need to go back for work after receipt, I got mine on 11 months 12000 miles and if they don't put a factory warranty in place will sell it when it's 2 1/2 years old.

Swerni, good choice! My FX50 came with an Infiniti branded roof box (Thule made) which has proved very useful for family trips as the standard boot can be a bit challenging with the rear roofline.

I think the 2012 cars received a mild facelift which added a fully powered closing tailgate as opposed to the soft close on the earlier cars. I think there was also a lane departure warning system added at the same time.

If it were my money and provided Infiniti come up with the long promised warranty scheme, I would buy an earlier car for around £20k and add a warranty, I think you would stand to loose much less buying this way if depreciation is a concern.
