YNWA - 96 died, millions were affected and we won't forget.
Lets hope that the inquiry tells the families what happened to their loved ones.

With respect to the inquests what reporting restrictions are in place?

I note the LFC website & TV channel are restricted in what programmes they can show today, the Grobelaar interview has been censored and there are no "memorial" programmes being broadcast this evening / at the weekend.

I did start reading the thread today but sobbing in front of 20 blokes in the office isn't a good move so will. Catch up tonight.

RIP innocent 96.

Wonderful service from Anfield. A day of sadness but also a day for huge pride in what the campaign has achieved

Damn I feel proud to be a Liverpool fan tonight.

I will freely admit to crying reading The justice bell again.

And having read through all today,s posts, watched the news and the videos HR linked Makes me remember again why I love football so much.

We have spent all season bickering among ourselves and with other teams fans but today we all pulled together as a football family to Honour and remember the 96.

I have had personal tragedies in my own life and know how important my family and friends were to me,I can only pray in some way all the heartfelt tributes in here today have some crumb of support for just a single person touched by what happened that day.

Thank you to all fans of all clubs for showing the real meaning of being a football fan.

Its a real pity our next home game is against a shallow, plastic new money team that wouldn't appreciate heritage and tradition if it bit them on the bum, the game will be another huge emotional spine tingling event in a lot of peoples life (as the city game was) for many reasons but as I said its a pity its against a soulless plassy team.

In defence of Chelsea, ask Ron Harris about playing for Chelsea and you might get a different opinion about the pre-Abramovich era.

Haven't seen any of the coverage yet, and in a way I'm thankful for that as it always upsets me. Of course it would be amazing to win the league this year, however things like trophies etc pale into insignificance when compared to Hillsborough. May they all rest in peace, and hopefully there will be some party up there come the last day of the season. JFT96

The Chelsea that will rock up to Anfield in 2 weeks is a pale imitation and a horrible shallow club, God forbid it ever happens to LFC. (The fans wouldn't allow it)

I saw some clips on the news and youtube last night, then woke from a bad dream at 4am (badly delivering a final project presentation for my degree, if you are interested)to Mike Graham on talksport playing the speeches by Rodgers, Martinez et al to an instrumental backing of He's Not Heavy. I won't lie, I was welling up.

Exactly how would the fans stop it?

Exactly how many would protest at 100's of millions being thrown around on transfers, infrastructure, stadium etc etc etc?

I think Hicks and Gillete knew they had a battle on and some well placed "fans" made business life very difficult for them - not the sit in protest shouty stuff but a more succinct, well thought out button pushing exercise. All fans want LFC to do well, I would love some of the top players to play for us but on our terms and with class, I have to say City are gaining credibility in the class stakes, they were going down the same road as Chavski but now seem to be nurturing talent and respecting supporters - respect!

It doesn't take much to turn a club like Manchester City from an underdog, recently languishing in the lower reaches, to one of the biggest clubs in the prem. Just money and owners that care about money, not the club. The fans have absolutely zero input into this, if they pass the Fit and Proper Persons Test they are in. If they don't, they appeal then they are in.

If you think the likes of you or I have any sway where this is concerned, you are sadly mistaken. My club, Plymouth Argyle, lost a sizeable amount of wedge on the botched World Cup bid, where we would have been a preferred stadium come the 'inevitable' World Cup in England(!). I would imagine you could count the number of fans who gave a hoot about a few World Cup games over remaining financially safe on one hand. I didn't.

Yeah...er...that was my point hehe

However it does have to be said that if Abramovitch was in it for the money I'm sure simply putting it into the bank and taking his 2% would have generated more of a ROI than he's getting at Chelsea biggrin

Yeah but would that keep him alive? laugh

Lets face it if it wasn't for the profile he'd gained through purchasing trophies for Chelsea he'd be in a Siberian prison or a morgue.

Yeah, bad quoting on my part! smile
