Looks fantastic! Being only an hour or so away I'd love to rent this for a weekend or two early/late season. Will be in touch.

Great inspiration for the place in need of ground up rennovation near Avoriaz I saw this week. 240m2 on 3 floors, for only 180k euros...
Any particularly good sites to see what's available?

www.leboncoin.fr is a good place to start - that and going to each agence immobiliere listed via the resort website can be useful. The previously mentioned offering was a private sale.

I found mine via Agence Montagne in Chamonix, who seem to have a monopoly on apartments in my residence. They're a nice bunch though and were very helpful before and after my purchase, despite it probably being the smallest transaction they'd put through that year.

I'd really like some pictures of the tree once it's in if possible? I've been trying to work out how to have a tree in my front room, it never struck me to try a dried one. I've just been looking at live ones, then getting annoyed they obviously won't get enough light.

Also, more pictures of the beard.

I'll definitely post photos as and when I get it installed. Probably the spring now.

Dull question alert!

We are looking at the same tile for a combined bath/shower area (thanks for the inspiration!). I believe the water on the continent is fairly soft, not like the hard water we have here in the the south of England. Is that true?

How do you find keeping that tiling clean?

The wall tiles (both types) always look clean. If you get any water pooling next to the screen or in the grout lines that can leave a chalky residue but it cleans away easily enough. It just means you need a quick squeegee after use if you want it to look absolutely spotless between cleans.

Cheers. I have 3 kids, 2 of which are girls... plus the wife. I'm not holding out much hope for a wipe down after a shower!

Looks fantastic though, I need it look good after 3 years when we plan to move on.

My own brief was that it still needed to look 'day one' fresh after five years as that's broadly when I intend to sell. One year in and I think that's looking very promising, even for a hard-working place in the mountains.

A couple of PHers have asked about availability for the apartment. The easiest way for me to reliably answer that question is to post the airbnb link. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/4120521

Have you bumped up the price since first advertising or is my memory playing tricks?

Could you be comparing different weeks? Obviously half-term and Easter week are premium weeks.

So... When I visit and snore really loudly in a drunken stupor...

Will anyone else in the flat want to murder me through lack of sleep?

Apols. Been looking at loads of places recently so have myself all mixed up silly

Is the price shown per night regardless of how many people stay? i.e. A couple staying would pay that amount between them.

Yes, the price is the whole apartment, whether that's for one person or shared between four.
