Rather liked that.

It'll be interesting to see if Sean Pertwee can do anything other than play a 'hardman'...
No..no he can't! He appears to be still on the set of "Dog Soldiers" rather than playing Alfred the butler.

It didn't seem right Alfred calling Jim mate.

Who was the Joker then?

I really enjoyed it, very happy with that first episode.

Edit: Pertwee needs to be less hard man, more gentleman butler to me though.

That comedian in the club?

Do you think we'll see Batman in this? I'll be annoyed if they cancel this series before we do!

I reckon it'd be a decent cop drama if it ran with little or no Super stuff at all. Donal Thingy as Harvey Bullock is a good match and the rest of the supporting cast is above average.

One of the Joker origin stories is that he's a failed stand-up comic

I'm quite happy that Alfred is more Michael Caine than Michael Gough.

I thought it was good but they are trying to push all the characters onto us straight away i.e. cat women, poison ivy, penguin. they should of been gradualy introduced imo.

Ah yes, the comedian would work.

I very much doubt we'll see Batman in this show. We'll see the development of Wayne, but this should all take place within a few years so he'll be too young.

Quite enjoyed it, not exactly HBO standards but for a fun series it seems to have potential. Chucking lots of characters at us in episode 1 but maybe that'll mean they can ease off and just have 1 or 2 main threads per episode from now on.

Enjoyed the guy from the OC. Didn't realise he was the voice of Batman in the animated Year One?

Not being a Batman comic fan boy and only by going by the movies, but wasnt Alfred a former soldier/merc and would have done 'some nasty' things in the jungle?

Him becoming a butler would be the mellowing of him as such

Which thread are we using then?

Either way, I enjoyed it.

Thought it was decent enough again this week.

It's a comic book, it's comicky and as such is fun. The Penguin character is excellent!

It's turning out to be a decent cop drama, albeit with a hefty dose of comic book influences.

Yeah, I'm really liking this so far. Penguin is wonderfully messed up and it's certainly not a kids show given the level of violence.

The violence is definitely "18", and makes a better and darker programme for it IMHO. If you're just watching the UK broadcast you haven't seen anything yet...

Anywhere I can catch up on the first 2 episodes, Demand Five doesn't have it frown
