Which Impreza STi?

Afternoon All,

I'm looking to replace my current steed with an Sti in the coming months but Im unsure which version to look at.

I've got a budget of £13-14k which will just about stretch to a decent Hatchback STi. If I could find something lower i'm all for it but I had my heart set on a Hatchback.

I know a lot of people will recommend the 2.0L instead of the 2.5L in the later models but the lack of luxury in the earlier models has me scratching my head as to which to buy.

I've been looking at the 2.5L 330s models in the hatchback, does this model suffer from the engine issues of the other 2.5L cars?

That would be JDM Hawk (2.0 litre) and mod money for me, but that doesn't really solve your luxury issue - as even the hawks/late blobs are a bit 90's in their interior!!

I do strangely like the hatch STi so would like to hear peoples opinion on this...

If you're after luxury you're looking at the wrong car. The 2005 car represents the best new age, with the wider track, DCCD and that bullet proof 2.0ltr high revving engine... Personally, if I wanted a newer Jap turbo car, I would be looking at the Evo.

I'm with the OP, there's something about the hatches. I really like them now!

I agree with PaulM,

I like the look of the hatch and the wide body version looks great, but the fact no one trusts the engine would not fill me with joy which is a massive concern.

As does this means the end of Subaru's producing sporting impreza cars ?
