Any one recommend a company who can do a clutch on an 07 hawkeye STI in the Chelmsford/Essex area? Had a quote from Perkins in Dunmow £1144 nearly pooped myself on the spot. Mr Clutch Chelmsford £575 which sounded a whole lot better, I have always stuck to main dealers (hence Perkins) for service etc but now the car has done 85,000 miles (original clutch) I am thinking a clutch is a clutch, Thanks folks.

Try Extreme Scoobies or Mocom.

I know some people have also used a mobile guy for clutches but I don't have details for him. I think his name is Tim.....

Update, Thanks for the reco guys,. Extreme did a great job not the cheapest of the quotes but somewhere in the middle fitted new Exedy clutch, skimmed flywheel and spigot bearing, pointed out the Alternator belt was on its way out so got that done as well. So far so good, picked up today, looking forward to giving the old girl some beans when I have let the clutch bed in a bit make a change being able to accelerate at 90 rather than just watch the revs climb and the speedo stay where it is:-)
If any one wants to no how much it cost pm me as I don't no whether or not I should post on here specific prices charges?
ONE HAPPY BUNNY!!!!!

Hi Paul,
Is the skimmed flywheel needed when replacing the clutch, or done as a matter of course?.

Cheers

Usually done as a matter of course.

Paul @ extreme showed me my flywheel looked ok to me lol, but I think a new skimmed surface is definitely the way to go rather than relying on the old marked slightly scored surface, err the odd blue spot as well cant think why!
When I got cheaper quotes they seemed to be only talking about the clutch assembly only which is another reason I went to Extreme, experts in their chosen field, rather than jack of all and master of none!!
