My new VSP10R was delivered on the 23rd of August and I thought I would share the past month with you.

Stratstones Cardiff told me that there was a fault with the hood closing (not closing actually) that they had found during the PDI. Works had been contacted for a solution. I had the car for about a week and did a few local miles. It felt good.

It went back in for the roof fix and after a week and a half I collected it and drove to Goodwood. The roof problem was cured by adjusting the various cables, adjustments that Stratstones said they never knew were possible! So they learnt something too. They also replaced a headlamp unit which failed in the first two days.

Since then I've done nearly 2000 miles and its brilliant ! The sports suspension is great and much better than the standard Vantage I had before. The quicker steering makes it more 'pointy' . There are no squeaks or creaks or rattles...it's really solid. The sound (especially with the sports button in (default)) is awesome. The colour combination gives a real road presence - especially with dipped heads on Molly! I made wifey drive so I could see it coming! I am soooo happy!

There was a delay in activating the tracker as Stratstones hadn't set up a Cobra one on a MY14 car before but it all went ok. The tags are much smaller and have replaceable batteries now. Got a text from Cobra saying welcome the irst time out so I assume its working.

So ED and others with problems, I really hope they sort yours out. It's a fantastic car when it right. I really am over the moon and looking forwards to the next Pistonheads tour which we will definitely be on !!!thumbuprotate

Martin, I saw your car on the Monday when I went into the showroom. Looks absolutely gorgeous. Glad to hear it's all sorted now. I know Mike, Richard and the team were all working hard to get your SP10 back to you - had a good chat with them on the problem and solution.

Happy to hear you clocked 2000 miles already. Btw, that grey hood looks great now that the roof closes.

Delighted for you Martin. Will you be popping over to BR ? Knowing how well you drive 460+ BHP might be nice.

Pleased it's going well, was the headlight unit the led strip failing or something else.?

Just wondering as it seems to be quite comon on them ( mine went under warranty too) .?

Enjoy.

Many thanks Guys. Hope to meet you all soon.

Rob - I decided to wait and properly evaluate the car before taking the BR plunge and I'm still 'probing the limits'. The sports suspension is much better than I thought it would be - it's about as hard as the Boxter. I guess I'll give it a year and then decide. We really want to do some of the Alpine tours next year so that should decide things, especially if I can't keep up!!

Steve, it was the HID lamp or power pack that failed.

Saw someone else yesterday too! Came round a corner to see a Stratus white roadster S parked outside Caple Forge. Was so stunned I actually pulled in! Saw the driver was talking to someone inside the building and waited for a couple of minutes thinking what on earth am I going to say to this bloke when he comes out ('like your car mate'?!). Just as I started to pull away he came out of the building so he had a very narrow escape from interrogation by a mad woman ('don't you go on Pistonheads? You should - you're missing out!')!

Good to hear that you are enjoying some quality time with the new chariot and it's not testing your patience with any niggles either. Not even a mention of the trusty blue loan car so it must be going well smile.

Hope to see you at a meet soon thumbup
