Thought i'd share some pics of my xr3i, i'm a big lover of any 80's hot hatch, i only bought this in January after looking at a few other early mk4's, this was by far the best, 1 owner with almost every factory option, genuine 29000 miles with full service history, extras were factory sunroof, electric windows, central locking, upgrade ecu2 stereo with graphic equalizer, fuel computer, rear seat belts, alloys, spots and fogs, black paint, mud flaps, all this is documented on the original invoice, the car is all original paint and panel wise, never welded, spare never used etc, hope you like

Jesus, that's one rare car you have there, the C plate mk4s were usually rotted scrap by their 5th birthday

Lovely to see one in such remarkable condition

Yes "c" plate mk4's are very very rare, as said most were scrap at 5/6 years old, it took me a while to find a good un, the car has been in Watford all it's life, the guy i bought it from was getting on a bit and couldn't drive it anymore hence the reluctant sale, price wise, ??? i have just had all the suspension powder coated and some refinishing under the bonnet

The most evocative thing for me about this is seeing the stereo; I still remember how the buttons felt in my dads Sierra..

Beautiful car

Amazing! I had a black D reg mkiii in 2003 unfortunately it for twoced and ended up destroying Wooburn Greens cricket pitch. I really connected with that car. Awesome to see an albeit later version in such good condition.

That looks superb!

I'm sure you've paid what most would consider a small fortune for it. However, it's virtually unique in that condition and will only ever increase in value.

Good luck smile

Looks a great find. Love the spots but personally I would lose the front fogs, they looked great on mk3's but the shape of the front bumper makes them look odd imo.

As someone who just dismantled an E reg that had lived in a barn for 10 years, that is absolutely stunning and refreshing to see a Mk.4 in such good, original condition. Please keep us updated!

Lovely Dave, welcome to PH, you will find it a bit busier than the XROC BB biggrin

It can get a bit opinionated on the forums at times though, and a few threads end up like WW3. hehe

Cool, i've browsed the forum here before, just thought it was time to join, no doubt there's plenty of us XROC boys ( and girls ) on here, all opinions welcome good or bad, we don't all like the same stuff, i'd love a mk2 Astra gte but it's swearing on the xr forum...lol

They are a bit marmite, tbh first time i looked at the car my first thought was "they'll have to go" but i've got used to them now and they kind of make mine stand out from the other mk4's, i also really want to keep the car totally original and those were dealer fitted, as mentioned they're on the original invoice

Fabulous car, I'd love to own it!

One of my pals had a white C reg MK4, it was 3 years old at the time, I've fond memories of going over a hump backed bridge four up at high speed and ripping the back box off when we landed, oh happy days biggrin

I'd like to own now any of the cars we had between the four of us then, as well as the XR3i, I had a white Manta GTE, and my other two mates had a blue & grey MK2 Cavalier SRi & a white MK1 Escort RS Turbo, all pretty rare nowadays!
