Need to fly to D.C next week, I've got two choices.

Fly with BA via Heathrow or fly direct with United, which would you choose?

I've only heard bad things about United. I usually fly BA and think their service is spot on.

Price difference is £400 extra for BA, but I am not paying smile.

Thanks.

I fly United mostly as they are star alliance, I don't see how BA are worth the extra especially if your in economy.

Class for class, BA is head and shoulders above United - especially in Economy (which is actually not a bad place on BA nowadays).

I'm there now (well, Baltimore actually, use Dulles as more flight options in/out), and flying back tomorrow night and thanking God I'm using BA....

BA every time, and the further forward in the aircraft you go, the bigger the difference. Are UA still charging for alcoholic drinks in economy?

Thanks all.

It's only economy this time around, leaving it to last minute doesn't give me much options!

I've booked the BA flights now.

Hmm, should've gone with UA after all.

My MAN to LHR flight was delayed by an hour , then my LHR to IAD flight has been delayed by 1:35 hrs so far!

I really couldn't fault our United (Manchester to Dulles) flight last year. Good plane & crew, all ran to time. Immigration/security etc was a pain though.
