just seen the release details for the new Sonos Play:1 and it looks like a nice neat little unit. Can only imagine using it as rear speakers to compliment the Playbar right now, but I expect it is more a matter of when rather than if...

I could go for 3 Play:1s. I'm assuming 2x Play:1 > 1x Play:5.

I'm also assuming I can sell the free Bridges for a few quid on ebay, so there's always that if the group buy is no good.

Sonos have given me a voucher for 1/3rd off a Playbar, so I doubt any group buy will be able to top that, but you're welcome to try!

That is twice the discount we get!

Looking into Group Buy now and tomorrow with Sonos.

Also I think the little :1's can be used are rears to the Play:Bar and Sub. which would put the combo at around £1500 RRP - Which is far better value than using 3's

Might look at a bundle with that as well.

Eeerrrmmmm No that won't work, Not unless you have a network connection or router you can plug it into. Sonos needs a network connection to get its IP Address and for the ipad app to talk through.

I've got a play 3 in the kitchen, was going to get a play 5 but might get 2 play 1s instead and put them at either side of the room!

I am going to pre-order a pair of 1's to play with, should get them at the end of the month so I can report on how they perform both individually and as a pair.

In the meantime, I am chatting to my Sonos rep to see what I can offer on the run up to Christmas.

Does the Play1 have an aux input? You could use it with that for on holiday, couldn't you?
