What's the definition of "street" tyres?
Dot approved so et streets are allowedTough question on what makes a car eligible. I figure if it can genuinely drive between these strips with no support , then it counts. Tyre choice is a funny one, as some dot rated tyres are effectively slicks. I think the tyre rules should be a bit tigher. Maybe limiting it to specific styles (as in the Street Racer competition at York).
Guys, let me know your concerns, it'd be great to have MyM8V8, ArnieVXR, Jameshsv, Jez, 007, EmmaJ, all you guys and girls involved
Tyres are a big issue naturally, but there's no support vehicles allowed, I'm thinking of adding no tyre swapping at all (save punctures...) so if they're happy driving 350 road miles on the tyres in whatever conditions, then they're street enough for me!
As you can imagine, we're already getting plenty of naysaying flak, but your opinions will count so let me know. Not that this is a publicity / media hungry group of people, but hot rod magazine are hoping to attend and you can bet I'm badgering them into entering a car, so it should be fun whatever happens!

I think what you are doing is generally a good thing as the sentiment(I think) is to offer a competition for our road cars. Certainly not bagging you, as I know that making up the rules will always be hard. I'll most likely do it anyway it works, unless we're up against Red Victor 3 .Tyres are a big issue naturally, but there's no support vehicles allowed, I'm thinking of adding no tyre swapping at all (save punctures...) so if they're happy driving 350 road miles on the tyres in whatever conditions, then they're street enough for me!

Only suggestion from me, is no trailored kit, pump gas, taxed, mot'd and insured and no slicks.

No slicks, dot approved tyres which you would take the car to an mot on, valid mot, valid insurance and any fuel is allowed.
I think the fuel rule got changed as a few of the cars run race maps with race fuels or 20%methanol mix etc.
but it seems fair to me, and there is a good mix of cars.
plus HOT ROD magazine in the states are interested
the car has to be driven between stages, car cannot be trailed
