That's a tough choice you've made (I thought you were keeping the Spyder). The GT4 will be epic - but I personally need the open-air nature of a Spyder and that's why I always find it difficult to compare them.
Totally agree any convertible to me is the way to go and the Spyder 987 & soon 981 Spyder in my garage are 2 achievements off my bucket list itsybitsy said:
I agree you cannot compare gt4 with 981 Spyder although they share the same DNA !likewise there is no point comparing gt4 with the CR but the 987/981 Spyder I think it's a different story and comparisons can be made.Hence I struggled with the idea of swapping my 987 Spyder for a 981 Spyder but switching to a gt4 was easier as its a different kind of car altogether..If I could afford to keep my car and purchase a gt4 I would and have the perfect garage .
The yellow in the pictures looks deeper and richer. The yellow in reality (IMHO) looked a bit flat and not like yellow Porsches of old (is it a different/new colour). I'm not saying it did not look good (that's personal taste) but that it didn't look like the pictures. Did I mention that the MX5 looked fantastic and held it's own in the supercar paddock...
the RR wraith wine up the hill faster :-(

Have to say I was so excited to see this at goodwood, but felt terribly disappointed upon seeing in the flesh. It seems nicer in pictures than in real life. The thing just looked like it was made of plastic. I know it will be a fantastic drive and sound lovely, but it just looks like a body kitted gt4. Zero elegance to the design, they really should have dropped the agressive look for this car.
The gt3 rs and gt4 were stunning. Gt4 is high up on the want list. The clutch pedal felt so meaty! Don't mean to offend prospective purchasers, I really hope you enjoy the car but just voicing an opinion.
These pics do more justice than the real life impression. Couldn't take one of the front as it just didn't look right on this car.
They should have gone for a more bespoke looking design like the older one and stuck the 3.8 in. That way it would be totally differentiated from the gt4 and not be looked upon as the less focused variant but sporting the same looks.
