I don't suppose anyone knows where I can get a new set of seats from please. I'd like to replace the full electric seats in my 25th anni with the the sports eat option they offered on the 25th, or maybe some earlier seats like those fitted to the QV. The Red 25th that auctioned yesterday at RM Auctions Paris appears to (I'm assuming) have the 25th sport seats option fitted as a point of reference.

That fits with what I have, clearly it was painted with an Italian paint code of 7050, so maybe back at the factory. ...
"peinture" is french not italian, maybe that is a clue?Interesting that the 25th and the 4000s sold at RM yesterday but not the RHD periscopa.
The original design was sublime but the wheel arched version in many ways came to define the look of the car.
It'll be interesting to see the relative price of the three principal versions of the car over the next few years............

Interesting mix of cars going through the RM Auctions in Paris yesterday and quite astonishing that the Porsche 911 Carrera sold for more than the Countachs. The original design was sublime but the wheel arched version in many ways came to define the look of the car.

A couple of cars have appeared recently that are worthy of a separate mention.
As you may be aware, Talacrest bought a collection of 27 cars recently including the black with white interior Countach 5000S formerly for sale at Amari, which still has under 1000 miles on the clock.
Also, Carl Hartley (of Tom Hartley Supercar dealers fame) has on Twitter picture of another 5000S with I believe less than 5,000 miles on it.
These are both RHD and different cars: the first is 1983 on a Y plate without a wing and the other is 1984 on an A plate with a wing.
Photos below from ddClassics who have the first one for sale, and Carl Hartley's Twitter feed.
Does anyone know the chassis number of either car?

Can anyone tell me how many were sold in orange?
I remember a guy having one a few houses down from my parents in the late 70's.
I'm guessing that these being fairly rare cars there wouldn't be too many in any colour.
i have pondered this for obvious reasons. I have seen 2 other LP400's in orange and i know of a few more ( Japan, Europe and Australia) so i would expect there to be about 8 i guess ( I am sure Joe Sackey would know more accurately) but the orange and of course the lime green were colours of the '60s and '70 and by the time the LP400s ( late '70s) arrived i think had gone out of fashion and more traditional colours dominated. Also many cars have changed colours at the owners whim and although it might be more were factory painted orange a large number have changed colour(some a number of times) with i think red being the most popular ( and perhaps the most popular original countach colour). I remember a guy having one a few houses down from my parents in the late 70's.

FWIW the shared standard colour charts for the Silhouette/Countach and the Jalpa/Countach that I have seen do not include Arancio. To the best of my knowledge no Silhouette or Jalpa was painted in this colour. And since this was a non-metallic colour no S model P250s or any P300s were this colour either.... P300V8 said:

15768 is not an S and there is no S badge on the rear panel. Although this car has electric windows and aircon these were fitted as optional extras. It was originally arancio but the arancio interior started out as beige, a colour only offered on non S cars.http://www.tomhartley.com/image/54f84c055c798/1260...

If it was the late 70s and in the UK, I'd guess it was the car pictured below. There was only one UK RHD orange Countach LP400 (there was a second one new to South Africa, but it was still over there in the 70s now in the UK and owned by orangeLP400 above). Only other UK RHD Orange Countach was an Anniversary, but not manufactured until 1989/1990 so not this car.
If it was UK and RHD, it'd be this car....
Another RHD Countach has just come on the market by the way.

1120026 was one of four cars shown at Earls Court 1974 by the new Australian owned agency that took over from Roger Phillips mid way through the show and lasted less than a year. Although ILR shows 1120026 to be originally orange, and pictures sent to me by the late Peter Lazzari taken in Clapham under artificial light makes all the show cars look orange, Del Hopkins told me that he remembers all these cars as being red, and the article published in Autocar w/e 26th October 1974 says that they were "all finished in Italian racing red". Curious indeed...

Thanks for this and (all the other replies).
My memory of the car are fairly vague despite walking past it on a regular basis and always watching in awe when it drove past.
So is the car still in the uk and is the owner on here?

Car is still in the UK and in London area and the owner is not on here. I can say it is in lovely condition and well looked after and has been in the same ownership for a long time. Thanks for this and (all the other replies).
