I think its a well put together piece and respect to the op for taking the time to share his thoughts..... Be a fking boring world if we were all the same
^^ What he said. No-one is being forced to read this read, if you don't like it, move on As for a first car, it certainly surpasses what I had for the first 3 years of my driving life - and I've enjoyed reading the thread. A lot of time and effort has gone into it.
OP: Have you not considered some a bit more 'sporty' next? Being 20 your insurance should be quite reasonable on MR2's/MX5's/MG TF's etc (if you like that sort of car)....

Always think a hot hatch is sensible progression for a new drivers next car. You retain the practicality you're used to, but gain everywhere else. I'm pleased the majority do read and enjoy this thread - it is a source of encouragement. I fully expected the comments from the usual suspects but I thought they had got their point across at the start of the thread without regurgitating the same speal year in, year out. Nevermind.
A vRS is something to consider but variety is a spice of life and I would like to experience a different model of car next.

How about a slightly faster, slightly bigger Skoda?
My Octavia is for sale, just throwing that out there
If you don't ask, you don't get but I will have to dissapoint I am afraid, the Mk1 Octavia isn't a car which is on my radar. All the best with the sale though! My Octavia is for sale, just throwing that out there

My insurance is sensible at the moment and those suggestions shouldn't raise it too much either but as AV hinted to, hot hatches (or something practical) would be a wiser purchase. It would also afford me the opportunity to read a thread, say of a black MX-5, when summer arrives and kick myself for not getting a roadster. A vRS is something to consider but variety is a spice of life and I would like to experience a different model of car next.

Say something truthful instead ?
More along the lines of "don't take the mick out of others' cars when you own a Zafira or a Suzuki Ignis"...I like Fabias used to own one, but the OP is sucking the fun out of then.
May I ask what makes you return?
I appreciate and understand that my writing style isn't to your taste and that is fine, I have no problem with that but you are able to skip the thread, as already stated. I find this thread cringeworthy but you appear like the attention so I wouldn't waste my time, nor yours writing posts to slate you because what would it achieve, apart from undue tension?
As countless posts in recent days would suggest, the majority appear to appreciate the effort that goes into the thread and engage in discussions. If a select few posters don't like my thread, that is okay because a huge benefit of the internet is that there is a plethora of topics to suit all walks of life.

It's not surprising you find the Ignis thread cringeworthy, it's meant to be fun and that appears to be something you're not really into. Chunks probably keeps coming back as he's human and an awful lot of humans have an odd fascination with things that piss them off. There are many threads I know will piss me off but I can't help reading them.

3 major differences here:I appreciate and understand that my writing style isn't to your taste and that is fine, I have no problem with that but you are able to skip the thread, as already stated. 1) I didn't start that thread.
2) it's entertaining- which is why it's a bit more than 7 pages long, with almost half the posts being your own.
3) the ignis thread doesn't reek of autism.

If I come across as boring and inept of having fun then fine, I can't do much to change your perception but they aren't traits which you associate with me if you met me in person. I think everybody comes across differently with a monitor in front of them, for better or worse.Chunkymonkey71 said:

I'm a little tired of trying to justify my own actions on my own thread but in answer to your questions; 1) I never stated that you started the thread but I fail to see what point you are attempting to make. 2) I mentioned in the original post that I would be updating the thread throughout the duration of my time with it so it shouldn't come as a surprise when I do what I said I would do from the outset, thus seeing my name appear on more than one occasion.1) I didn't start that thread.

I can see that you opted to avoid my question so shall I assume that you have similar thoughts to LeglessAlex?

Torque, have you looked into the VRS variant of the Fabia? A couple of friends have theirs running over 200 horsepower and they're absolute weapons while still being usable on a daily basis. Just an idea.
I have considered a vRS Fabia but as I hinted to in a previous entry, I would like to experience a different brand. Do you know whether the potential gains have a negative effect on reliability? Edited by TorqueR on Wednesday 1st April 21:59

The VRS is a very reliable car - perhaps slightly less than the MPI, but only because of potential turbo issues (same as with any turbo car). Aside from that, really good workhorse car, and with a good fun factor. Edited by TorqueR on Wednesday 1st April 21:59
Get over to briskoda.net if you've not already, the guys on there are ridiculously knowledgable (also more friendly than some of the trolling idiots on here).
I have no idea if you qualify as autistic or not, nor does it particularly concern me, but I'm chipping in to say I enjoyed reading this thread. The sense of enthusiasm is what appeals to me, regardless of what the car is. It's clear not everyone agrees but I quite like seeing the write-ups on the car. Should you change it in the future you've got some credible evidence the car was looked after too.

I agree with other peoples comments.SOLD!
It was going to happen sooner rather than later but me and my first car have gone our separate ways this afternoon after buying a new car last week. I will do a final concluding post to summarise my thoughts on NX51 when I have more time but don't worry, it won't be war and peace.
In the meantime, I look forward to seeing how the next instalment to "Czech out my..." series goes with the updates from our resident ChunkyMonkey.
