ps, road bikes, blade with full tank, wet weight, Without ABS, 194, with abs, 199 kg

R1 206 kg 'yamaha wet weight' so thats half a tank.
Blimey!! thats quite surprising. Wouldn't have thought it'd be so much
Daisy comes in at 164kgs with a full to the brim 26 litre WSBK replica tank and all fluids. I'm pretty sure i could shave that by at least 5 to 8kgs with things like full ti akra system, ti axles, subframes and such as well as ti fastners, CF bodyowrk and a LiPo battery, CF front discs etc. Amazing how much you can shed from a bike if yoy go at it. Guess that explainswhy with only 170 at the rear wheel she goes like stink!

And its a prime example of how bikes will only continue to get heavier.

In weight terms, the 954 fireblade was the pinnacle, as was the 07 r1, the k5 gsxr etc etc.

My old 07 blade with kit everything, TI everything, TT tank (24l) 16.5's etc came in at 167.

Bryan Starring to race for team wd40 at brands this weekend and Ellison's resigned for gb moto.
O’Halloran on one Honda, but what are the rumours for the other bike?
Its Haslam, Camier or Parkes.
Starring and Parkes would be interesting, maybe they having backing/sponsorship from some Oz company?

Would be interesting to see how camier does in bsb again, with all the reg. changes since he dominated last time.

I wonder when laverty or pbm are going to announce his return?

Beats me why gino rea doesn't come back, he busts his ass getting sponsorship to run in the back of moto2 where he just makes up the numbers, surely a similar budget in bsb would get him a good ride and he'd be getting talked about?

You try finding those extra 17kgs's!!

It was as light as it was going to get, the chassis and running gear were full fat sbk spec.

Also, i forgot to say , that was without fuel, when i weighed (iirc with half a tank) it was nudging 177

Don't Moto GP bikes have a mandated minimum weight??
As as LB says, once you get down to the 160/170kg mark, getting much lighter is a) fookin hard b) fookin expensive. You're then into exotic materials and expensive development. When you're potentially saving grams on a single component, finding those 17 kilos is hectic.
I'd like to get daisy sub 160kgs fuelled up but it's going to be mooi mooi $$$$$$$$

Hasn't Brookes just re-signed for SMR/Milwaukee Yamaha? The WSBK story is now almost 2 weeks old & seems to have been succeded by the re-sign news.

It matters not what TAS or William or Guy do on the BMW now. Michael won on it first. He was the first BMW for 75yrs to win at the TT. He has won on it everywhere on the roads.

Quite possibly he will win again on whatever else he turns up with ?
