Racing Silly Season - Who is going where in 2014?
Discussion
Two years seasons ago, this guy was within an inch of winning one of the last races of the year. Last year he started in BSB. This is where he is now

I imagine a lot of those are at club level.
If you guarantee it sounds like we need to have a bet! A crate of Peroni perhaps?
I just think she's competing at too high a level. I agree there are other riders too that don't deserve to be there. I'm not just having a go at her. I think you should prove you are competitive in other classes before being earning a ride in top level racing.
A crate of Peroni it is. I really just want her to do OK, as it just seems that those in the lower classes are being a bit brutal and I like to support an underdog. Having chatted with a few at the lesser end of the BSB scale, they're quite adamant that she'll put a few noses out of joint this year. If you guarantee it sounds like we need to have a bet! A crate of Peroni perhaps?

If you win this wager ( which I think you will, Loon ) make sure to request Peroni Red Label, sooooooo much smoother and nicer ...!
Ok. We'll neck half of it, then head off to my local to drink a load more on tap. Have a curry then drink the rest. And that'll jsut be the Wednesday. Firstly may I say that I am all for Jenny getting a break and having a funded ride on a well built and supported bike. She may not be the fastest in BSB but she has put her own money up to do it for a few years now and has managed to finish ahead of many male riders over that period.
Secondly all this talk of a "Factory Bike" there are no "Factory Bikes" in BSB. Not one. Every bike on the grid has started life as a standard production line bike in a crate just like yours and mine. The then get stripped and rebuilt to individual specifications by a British or UK Based team. On some there may be some help or assistance from the racing dept at the manufacturer. An example being last years TT where BMW built the engines and sent along the young lady that had built them to offer support.
We are in all reality racing what is in essence a production based bike with local tuning, I include light wheels and aftermarket suspension, ecu etc under tuning.
I may of course be wide of the mark and someone actually has a current model year bike that was actually built by the full racing dept of a manufacturer in its country of origin as that is what defines a "Factory Bike" for me. Merely bolting on HRC bits in Louth does not an HRC bike make.
Anyway go Jenny...................

There's no factory ZX10s I thought?
Being on a factory bike you have to be aiming for the top, you have the top machinery after all. What do you think she should be aiming for?
Lots of posturing form Paul Bird, but Kawasaki pay all the bills now, GB Moto team are well funded (maybe not factory but have a lot of Kawasaki money), ditto BeWiser for Danny Buchan's ride. They might not be official Factory with a capital "F" but there's lots of money and lots of trick factory parts either fitted for free or bought at a significant discount fitted to those bikes.
PBM don't get anything from Kawasaki, they haven't since Birdy & Kwak fell out over WSBK, GB Moto are the official Kawasaki supported effort, BeWiser getting a fair chunk too, hence walker being placed there to help Danny 'SC0' Buchan.
As for Jenny, it's fairly well publicised that it's a publicity drive to get more women onto bikes, alongside female Motox & Dakar lasses.
I've said my peice on her when it was announced, she will be lucky to score points, pretty much assured she won't in the dry, however she can ride, but she sure as hell hasn't got the ride on pure talent, after all she used to turn up to TSGB and struggle to beat (and only did a couple of times) the likes of Phil Crowe, Jonathon Lodge and The Ram....

Distinct possibility that one rider's nose is going to be seriously put out of joint with the return of Hopkins to BSB with Halsall Suzuki.

If he's fit and in form he'll be competitive on any bike. Personally I'm glad to see he's got a ride. Expect I'll change my mind if he turns up fat and performs like last year though!
He's not fat. It's still a suzuki same as he has last year thats well out of date and out performed by the bmw/kawasakis.

Is the GSXR that uncompetitive? About the same as old R1? Josh Brookes seems to do alright on both. Not class of the field but not that far behind.
