Two posts in one smile

I took delivery of my Rex in May and have not been invited to return the car for any mechanical work.

Regarding driving the i3, if you consider yourself to be the kind of driver that can read the road and traffic with the ambition of using as little brake as possible, this makes town driving as much fun as a track day is with a fast car.

The car is full of cleverness. I love it. Hence forgiving it's failures and willingly working with BMW to cure them.

This was such a brave car for BMW to manufacture, who cannot enjoy being part of the future of the car as we want to know it !

Hmmmn... judging by the last 2 posts i might end up taking the A5 to work instead of the M42/M6/M1 I Currently take. When i get the car that is! @ 5.50am when i leave there's no traffic and only 5 minutes difference in the times but 9 miles shorter on the A5.

Genuine question is the Tesla S technology superior? If not what isn't

Anyone else had the totally pointless i3 owners pack sent through with a glow in the dark plastic key cover and a book which is half empty?

Just had the car back from the update. There is a new layout for the satnav input screen which is better, so is the finding things in the local area section. Seems like the mileage estimator is much more realistic, it has not changed the actual mileage you can do per charge.

I had the same box from bmw this week . I wonder if they have had issues with keys being damaged when dropped ? the book is a complete waste of time .
They could have sent a nice bottle of red instead ...

Tesla S will probably have superior software due to it's location/talent pool

Tesla released all of it's technology patents, no doubt this will help to cement Tesla's standards

Haven't had the pointless pack (unless it's at home waiting for me), but my car did go in last week for a software update - and it's screwed up the satnav so I've lost RTTI, and it's back to TMC only. Booked in again early Jan for another go.

Is that trying to put words in my mouth ?

Too heavy.

Not the ethos of an eco car.

Tesla is the ethos of an electric replacement for a conventional hydrocarbon driven vehicle ... in my view !!

Which is exactly why it is successful.

99.9% of people do not care if a car is "eco" or not

For me the Tesla looks good (the Fisker which went bust but has just been bought so might come back...was stunning)every one is a proper 7 seater, its in P85+ as fast as the F10 m5 the latest Tesla D even quicker so a big tick for me low Centre of gravity and serious 300-400mile range

But none of that is the reason I bought my i3 smile

The i3 is a different concept completely ... hence the carbon fibre chassis etc.

I also have Cayman R for fun ad a Landrover Discovery for long distance 7 seats and towing ...

But, when I am retired the one car that I will not be able to do without, is the i3 ... and BMW will supply the 7 seater and the Sports car if I need them.

Good choice - I have a Disco and Z4MC. I think I have all bases covered. Z4MC ticks the great sound with heart stopping terrible tram-lining box very well.

Seriously, the i3, along with the i8, must be the most awful looking cars you can buy at the moment.

I just think they look ridiculous!

I don't really care about the technology or any other aspect becuase they just look awful, I guess they only sell because of the badge.

Or to people who care about the technology rather than the looks?
