I'm happy to say I've never seen one of these before. I thought it was a joke but my sister in law just paid over £2000 for one.

They apparently fetch very good money in Japan. I've never seen one in the UK.

Tell her to be careful with the boot. You can only put something like 45kg in the area welded on behind the normal Micra boot lip.

I drove a Mitsuoka Viewt for a while when working for London Taxis in Coventry, as it was one of their pool cars (a gift from a Chinese investor). Driving a comedy Mk2 Jag around Coventry was certainly amusing and got a lot of attention, I actually really came to love the little thing, despite the awful 1.3 engine and CVT gearbox. The interior was hilarious - a Micra but with as much fake wood as you could ever imagine thrown at it, and the cheapest grey leather imaginable.

edit: here's the boot:

You can see the bulkhead where the Micra boot ended. Comedy.

What a hideous creation! Mind you, I can just imagine the appeal that would have in Japan, where there is very much a market for 'vintage Western' style!

There is only one Micra you should covet...
