Silverous, I was comparing the same! DtD just have a prefered dealer supplier, the calculation is all the same through Volkswagen finance.
The curious thing is how a headline saving of £2k with DtD didn't translate to a cheaper per month price... both dealers and DtD seem reluctant to share the finance breakdowns, I'm guessing to try and limit the "shopping around"?
When you say 'comparing the same' do you actually mean....comparing the same?

So, same car, same spec, same APR, same mileage allowance, same residual value??

The answer is obviously 'no'. wink

Don't take this as a dig, but why go to the bother when you're not ready to commit? Lease deals change often, and sure as heck they'll change next year as we go in to Q1
Not a question I expected to get asked really. Never bought a new car and never leased a car before. I'm trying to do all the research I can so that on the day I think everything is in place, I can walk into the place I want to get my car from and do a deal that day. I wanted to get a brochure, talk through what the options are with the salesman (and I ensured I went first thing in the morning when they were not busy, and all stood around waiting for customers to come in!) just so I know where I'd stand.

He explained that the deals may change by then, which is fine - and that I'd just have to see how it went at the time.

I compare the bits that are necessary to compare, ie car, spec, APR, mileage, my deposit...the residual value is set my Volkswagen finance and (I'm told) cannot be changed.the latter I have less interest in anyway sice I will only keep the car if it can be resold for a profit.

So....the answers is actually yes :-)

Hi all

Looking to lease a focus ST 2/3 and came across this. What are people's views?

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

6+35 10k per year. I can't see the excess per mile charge though? £254.99 a month.

Also, I'm guessing this is the old shape? I was in my local ford dealer yesterday and said I can order the new focus for delivery 1/3/15 in the new shapes (have no preference).

Your views are very much appreciated

Honestly, they change massively so in effect it was a waste of time. Just look at the Golf R, I could have ordered a base car for 9X23 @ £185+VAT, now I hear they are up £300++ on similar terms.

Again, its not a dig, just saying that when you walk in to the Ford dealer after Christmas, the car you decided you wanted may not appeal due to the new figures quoted.

Well they did say they recon they could match any lease deal around on the internet.. but point taken on the Golf R example, as of course they've all quickly dried up.

I guess it was just me getting eager / impatient. I'm desperate to sort a new car out now and am so damn close.

There's always a deal somewhere, but if you're picky as to make, model and spec then you may be disappointed. Rather than set your heart on a particular deal that's current now you'd be better off waiting until you're in a position to sign up then see what's around. There are some spectacular deals from time to time, two recent examples are the Golf R and E Class estate, but when they're gone there's usually something else to choose.

Unless you've been up front then you could say it's a waste of the sales guy's time too. It does sound like he let him know his intentions though.

Will be the old model, the new one is coming out nearer £300 for more basic models.

That's generally on PCP for retail customers so will be cheaper on lease. I can't imagine you'll see much change out of £300 a month though on the new one.

Got some good Tiguan Match 4motion deals on there last time I looked, Ford Kuga too. Quite easy to navigate the site to get prices for mileage.
I've just ordered a Kia Sportage KX3 (Sat nav) through leasing options for £220 per month, £1350 down at 10k miles a year. I guess this would be 'similar' to your needs?

I told the guy up front why I was there, and time-frames for looking to do a deal! And as I say, made sure I popped in first thing in the morning when the place was a ghost town.

It's not 4wd though is it? That was one of his needs.
Merc GLA too has 4matic option.

Yes it is (hence the 'KX'). It also has electronically lockable difs (under 25mph) and hill descent assist, so while it's no Land Rover Defender, it can probably deal with a muddy field ok.

Interesting, might just go on my list too.

I think you need to investigate that GFV/Residual value a bit more than you have....

That's quite expensive, you can certainly get nearer £215/220 a month and £1300 dep.

GFV is everything.

If you're not worried about that, then just hire it, tends to be cheaper.

£40,000
£4,000 deposit.

VAG
36 x £615

Lombard
36 x £666

VAG option to buy is £25000
Lombard option to buy is £16000

Those are figures I had on an S4 Avant btw.

Monthly figures as low as possible is always nice, but you have to look at the whole picture.

It's packed with toys too. Nothing else I could find really compared. It's going to be a bit of a shock to the system after an Audi S4, but it won't be my only car (will probably look for an earlyish Boxster S or 3.0 Z4 as a 'garage queen' to run alongside).
