Thank you,

I am finding everyone different BMW Wakefield will only accept 6 payment upfront BMW Leeds will accept 12 which works out about 3.7k and I want to add a further 1300 this will take me from a base 320d into a good spec 330d
Have you tried getting quote with a low mileage allowance then agreeing with your company to pay the excess - it might amount to the same thing? eg this 6k/yr 9+23 deal @ £223.

What happens if after a month or two the car is written off or stolen. You lose the £5000,the lease company cancels the lease and you have to find another £5000 to start a new lease.

Large up front payments are not a good idea.

Seems like a blind statement...Where do you have that idea from?
Most insurers, like mine (esure) replace a new car (where you are the first keeper) with another like for like brand new car if written off within the first year.

Or the guy that had his Golf R stolen just free taking delivery. Insurance replaced the car, but he couldn't get the upfront rentals back. He's on PH and did a thread about it

If that happens then it's insured and as said like for like in 1st year for me personally if I lose 1k or 1300 that's not rly that much is it and like I said to put that into the companies deposit to get something better suits me!

If the company lost their money that's nothing to do with me you could say supposing the company goes bust over the term you will lose 1300 quid yep I would but where can you get 35-40k car from for 1300 as previously stated I think that's a damn good investment in my part 1300 over 4 yrs is feck all

I was replying to EB's statement.

For upfront payments, 1, 3, 6 and 9 are norm. Sometimes you'll get a 12+ deals, but that's very rare. There's no call for it, so the funders don't offer it. I've tried to get an 18+ deal done before for a customer for a batch of vans with little luck

What mileage allowance is that?
It comes to £3542 for the year which is not especially good in my opinion.

This deal works out better @ £2856/yr
https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

Personally for similar money I'd rather have:
£2872/yr

That Leon deal looks great! Tempted by this, never leased before, but just sold my 330d coupe and need a family car. Anyone know whether that deal is business only, or whether personal lease is available too?

It all depends if the finance company allow the replacement car as they are the registered keeper and owner of the car. Fair enough it is YOUR insurance policy but it is down to the owner of the vehicle, have a look on vwroc.com and you will see what people are meaning. A few Golf R's that have been stolen are on lease and they have been left out of policy even thought there insurance/gap insurance covers a replacement car.

Personal deal for the Leon looks good - https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing... £5851.72 for two years of sensible motoring.

eSure also say "Only applies if the replacement car is available in the UK and anyone else who has an interest in your car agrees."

It's standard practice for leasing companies / finance houses to terminate upon write-off so you have to hope your insurance will cover the settlement figure (or you bought GAP cover). You lose any upfront payment.

What was annoying for the Golf R "owner" referenced earlier is the car was worth more than the settlement figure but his insurer wouldn't pay him the surplus, so he was left a couple of grand out of pocket.

Works out just under 30 a month more than the other business deal + vat, which is a shame, but still good overall. Thanks for sharing! smile

Nuts. £92 / month - you'd pay Hertz that to have it for a week.
