My problem is actually slightly different. I haven't mentioned the PX yet, I just couldn't get the dealers to match, or even provide, a PCH quote. I presume that with the VWFS deals, the dealers must have access to the same deals, so can't understand why they don't match the broker price and just try to take the commission. They are much keener to try and sell me PCP instead, when I state I've got no interest.
The problem is a lot of the lease deals take all of the dealer margin away, and some deals take the dealer margin + a little extra as well. So it's understandable that some dealers don't wish to do deals that cost them money to do, would you pay money to go to work?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you need to speak to the fleet departments of dealerships as that's the guys that will do the deal. Not the retail dude that's fresh from working at the carphone warehouse.

Also whoever said about springing a part ex at the last moment, that won't really work in your favour. There'll be next to no money in the deal so they'll give you what your car is worth in cold blood, no over allowances at all. And that's if they'll take your car at all, so you might as well be up front at the start with the dealer. Not all of the dealers will take a part exchange against a lease deal either, especially if they have an auction policy. Too much chance of the car losing money at auction means a hit on a deal that doesn't make any money any way.

Thanks. That makes a bit of sense (in my head anyway). Sounds like speaking to the fleet or business sales teams is the way to go. Will remember that for next time, hopefully not for a year or two though.

When I was at Renault Arval took 8% of a 7% dealer margin. With that, you need to then PDI/valet/deliver the car. So IF you hit target, you MIGHT break even on that car. Hence why lots of dealers don't want to do it. We knocked 2000 units out a year and hit targets so it was all good for us, your local dealer not so much biggrin

I'd say the reason Simpsons Skoda comes up so often is they're set up to do big numbers a year, hence they're all over lease deals smile

This seems a good deal for a 6 series gran coupe....I'm tempted but really want the normal coupe, not the gran coupe.

14 week lead time though.

Anyone know of any similar deals to this - http://www.gateway2lease.com/z_bmw_6-seriesgrancou...

Check out the BMW dealers advertising direct on contracthireandleasing.com, I think they are showing good deals.

Audi S8

Hi all,

I have mentioned this thread's stonking S8 lease deals to a friend of mine and he's very keen. I realise around page 419 of this thread that all such deals may have been taken up and that one or two users may have already passed on their knowledge of dealers who will match this deal with limited build slots left. Having said that, has anyone seen this deal still going or indeed able to PM me the details of a dealer who may match the previously mentioned deal?

Thanks.

Your friend can grab a phone a try to get the deal for himself. Maybe there's a dealer who still needs to sell A/S 8. However brokers "sold" circa 50 cars which will be coming through dealers as well, so it may be difficult to find one without targets already met.

As mentioned earlier I tried without success following dealers or they already allocated available cars, so he can skip them: Carlise, York, Hull, Boston, Wolverhampton, 2 x Glasgow, Perth, Edinburgh, Hamilton, Sterling, Eyre, Dundee, Coventry, Audi West London, Shrewsbury.

And it's worth talking to fleet managers rather than standard sales people.

Did you have gap insurance? There may be a further shortfall not covered by your deposit

Real world fuel consumption likely to be a bit painful (anyone have experience?), and I haven't checked the insurance, but the M135i at that price, mmm:

Take it over the plentiful Skoda deals, anyway..

Seems cheap. I wonder what the excess milage charge is.

re: M135i - insurance is surprisingly cheap for what it is. Averaging 30mpg, longer runs over 35mpg and that's usually with roofbars and bike carriers left on.

My biggest issue with leasing is what to do about the deposit for the next one. After 2/3 years I can hand the car back but what do people do about finding a spare couple of grand to lease the next car? Are regular leasers just saving a pot up during their lease to fund the next one?
Just look at the total lease cost. It matters not if it's a 9+23, 6+23 or 3+23 its the total that is the important figure that can be compared to the depreciation over the same term if one was to buy instead.

I simply allow for this expenditure every 2/3 years within my personal cash flow but it forms part of the total overall figure of leasing.

Had mine for 14 months and I'm averaging 23.6mpg over the 5500 I've done...
