Is there anywhere doing decent deals on Octavia Estates? They seem highly priced at the moment. I found a company called Lease not buy, who are doing a decent deal however I can't find any info on them.
Tried Freedom?

Just out of curiosity, why are people so coy about posting where particular deals come from? Is it a point of forum etiquette? Or to stop spamming or similar?
Because the dealer may not want a particular deal widely advertised, it could be something you've negotiated directly person to person via private communication at a point in time on a particular car or they are particularly motivated to do it for a set of circumstances and then it gets on here. I don't think it is a big deal but unless it is a publicly advertised deal you are making it public without the approval of the sales person....

Tried Simpsons Skoda, they don't seem any cheaper than most lease companies. Freedom have very few options and no prices for 36 months which would be ideal. I think it ma be a case of sit back and see what appears on the market. I am after a personal lease if that makes a difference too.

5k miles per year

6+23 at £203.92 a months

Works out at 6k-ish for 2 years, thoughts?

There is a fair amount of flexibility with changing miles and initial payments it seems

Most dealers and lease companies will lease a car from 5k to 45k miles a year all you have to do is ask them for a quote.

Yes a personal lease makes a difference as you have to pay VAT on your payments.

Seams a reasonably good deal but bear in mind the car has a petrol engine and although badged as a 318i has a 1.5 litre engine from the mini I believe.

And also 5k miles per year - are you actually going to drive it or park it in your drive and admire it?

Ah, that is even better.

If this 318i has the engine from the Mini, this car shares vital DNA with a sports car - the BMW i8 - so what your saying is that you can get a taste of the sports car world while you drive to the supermarket for the weekly shop.

....all for £200 p/m. Where do I sign? wink

That is half the problem with most of the deals on here, the mileage allowance are pitiful, no doubt someone will be along to say just pay the excess mileage, but why not quote a realistic deal in the first place?

Works out at 96 mile per week.

You'll rack up more than that going shopping or simply moving it out of the way so you can use the Mrs's car because you'll be over-milage if you use the BM wink

Average UK milage is 12k from memory and you may as well get the right contract mileage to start with yes

The problem is that for whatever reason leasing never works like this. If you look at most deals paying the excess mileage fees is waaaay cheaper then speccing it into the original deal. Negatives are that you pay it at the end. Be sensible and put the money to one side and read the lease agreement thoroughly to spot any limitations and it makes sod all difference in reality though?

May also work on the same principle as cashback. Factored into the deal is an assumption that X% of people are not going to claim - profiting from their lazyness in the same way that someone attracted to lease wants an 'all-in' price at all costs and speccing in most cases 'worst-case' mileage in their application is part of that.

It's only 5k because that's the deal the poster selected. You don't have to pay excess beyond that - just change the mileage to 8,10,15 etc whatever suits you. The deal will still be 'good' for the mileage selected. They're not just amazing on 5k and rubbish on every other mileage.

Perhaps this as a slight alternative to my previous post?

BMW 340i
8k miles

2.4k initial
320 / month
150 documentation fee.

Roughly 10.5k for 2 years with 8k miles per annum

Think the car works out at around £40k so roughly 25% of its value, and as its new not sure on discounts from dealers

I am guessing some people will prefer 330d or 335d as there seem to be s lot of good deals on these

The 330d and 335d are diesels and the 340i is petrol. The 340i deal looks expensive and can get a better lease deal on the diesel cars.

All three cars you can get about 8k off the list price if buying new and are all £30k cars so the 340i lease deal is 33% of its value.

The lease deal is still OK compared to the depreciation; but not a huge money saver either.

However, the scary number on a lot of BMW deals is the excess mileage charge.
