You sound exactly like my dad aha! I will look into my option. I didnt really want to get a loan until I bought my house but will see!
Leasing is still finance. If you're worried about the finances get a £500 car off ebay with 12 months MOT.

Edit: To add, there is no shame in that. Houses are expensive and nice cars are a luxury. It is what I did, I'm running around in a 17 year old Astra that I call my tip car and that one day I'll leave it there with a boot full of rubbish. smile

Tonker's right, lease payments are taken into consideration on your mortgage application. Unless your monthly lease payment is very low so not to make any meaningful difference to the amount you need to lend for a mortgage - I would buy your house first!

Reckon we'll see a number of good deals in the coming days, as brokers announce their Q4 pricing?

Not sure, they're may be a few pre reg deals for quick turnaround. I think it would depend on how many people registered units to hit target. If someone is in the market to do something now, they might get a good deal. I reckon middle of the week we'll find out smile

Where spending £3000 a year on a lease will save money? That buys a lot of fuel. If money is tight or of a concern (it always will be when your about to take a mortgage out) then stick with the old car.

I think that's a terrible deal.
Initial payment 5583.49
23 x 620.39
Processing fee 360

So its a 9 + 23 deal.

Total 20212.46 or 841.18 a month.

A deal even more terrible than you thought.

My Audi lease deal through Arval is up early next year.

15k mileage for two years for an A6 S-Line, no options, maintenance and tyre cover on a personal hire 6+23 worked out at £330 a month thereafter.

I am seriously struggling to find anything as good deal wise now and stupidly since I spoiled myself by having such a comfy well equipped car, I'm loath to go backwards!

Equivalent deal now is at least £100 dearer a month.

Would appreciate recommendations across BMW Merc or Audi for something that looks pretty sporty, m-sport, Amg or s-line for roughly the same a month. Must have maintenance and 10k a year is fine. Ideally looking to stay under £350 as mortgage application looming!

^ I'm not sure how closely a Skoda Superb matches your needs, but they're very decent value right now.

I'm also on the unicorn-hunt for a 5 door DSG Golf R deal - no options - with reasonable lead times.

Hi folks,

Bit of a request of anyone might be able to help?

My parents are after a new car, mother is a numberplate snob and father thinks the Mk5 Golf they had a few years ago is the best car ever, so clearly they have no interest in cars at all. They have a 11 plate Civic at the moment and instead of buying nearly new every 3 years or so I've talked them in to the idea of a lease car.

Problem is I can't find one that suits and within their budget of £150-ish per month. Only criteria is that is has to be a 5 door, have a bit more power than the current 90BHP Civic and 'look nice'. They would like a Focus sized car but could live with Fiesta size if budget doesn't allow for the bigger car.

Any help and links would be appreciated thumbup
