Ok,

So finally have an offer which is definitely available!

Seat Leon Sport Coupe 280 CUPRA 3Dr (Red)
3+23 @ £243.16 per month
5k Miles p/a
7.2p per miles excess
Total = £6322.16

Equiv Monthly - £263.42

Looks like a good deal to me but want to get your opinion on this before I sign up.

This is with a local SEAT dealer. Happy to share info if others are interested.
Its alright but my golf is similar money on 10000 a year. I've done 5k in 6 months without trying.

Did mine through call and got it 2 weeks ago. Do you know where the dealer is?
All I know about dealer is that it is Evans Halshaw.
The legal owner will be Peugeot Contract Hire. Last update was that it is due in country on 12/10. Update requests are met with, "we will put an enquiry in with the dealer"

If it is in country this weekend then maybe 2weeks on top by time I get it?
Ordered June through Vehicle Savers and got it Aug 3. Dealer was Evans Halshaw thru PCH.

Hope you get it soon, it's worth the wait.

Definitely available? Only saying because I submitted an order with Freedom who then bounced it back saying no new orders being taken on the 280 as the 290 is about to start production?!

oh and details of dealer if you would be so kind smile

Thanks for replying, Hope I get mine soon, bit annoying that we ordered at same time and you've had yours 2 months already though, think I'll phone tomorrow instead of emailing as has been the norm up to now. Just remind them I'm here and still waiting.

Calling all ex-pat eastern Europeans ( I think that's the correct term)
I have a colleague who is new to the UK. He wants to lease a car as - like myself - he gets a car allowance.
He is being told by the main dealers that he needs 3 years UK residency before they can finance him.
Is this the same for every company, or does anyone know a quicker way in to leasing for EU types in the UK?

All about credit history. He can check with Experian/Noddle etc., but there's probably not much he can do until he's got a decent bit of history behind him. I would have thought three years is a bit excessive though, worth speaking to some other finance companies not just main dealers.

Yep, worth persevering. My daughter got a lease (of some kind) with VWFS, and she's not even on the electoral register.

It helps massively if they've got a UK passport, but they really need to have been in this country for 2 years

Friend got PCP with Fiat after 1 year of work in UK. She didn't pass checks initially but it was suggested to her to bring employment contract and she got PCP.

She was on electoral roll from the beginning but didn't have any credit products at that point in time. She might have had phone contract, not sure about it.

Has anyone who took the Seat Leon FR TDI 150 deal (2000+£107/month) through CVL (Central) in early September received their car or any paperwork yet?

I was told "Mid-October at the latest" when placing my order, then towards the middle of September I was told "very end of September, first week in October and despite chasing a few times I still have no idea when I am getting the car, I'm a bit disappointed really as I read they were excellent and ordered on the basis of a mid-october delivery as I needed the car by the 21st.

I suspect there may be a delay because of the VW emissions scandal but when i've asked that question they have just ignored that part of the email.
Mine arrived over a week ago, It's lovely, although must have been manufactured before the latest ones were as Apple Play doesn't work. Other than that it's great.

Anyone seen anything convertable and girly on a deal at the moment? Something awful like an A3 Cab, Mini Convertible etc.

Naturally, not for me.

One small question. I'm the owner of a Mercedes CLA obtained using a contact hire agreement from Network leasing. Its coming close to the annual service, therefore would like to know if Network leasing is pushy with getting a dealership service or can I take it to a independent garage and save $$$.

Check the lease agreement, but I would strongly suspect that you are required to use a franchised main dealer.

I am not sure they can request that - My assumtion is that it needs to be serviced by a VAT registered garage using genuine parts. Give them a call or better yet an email (so you have it in writing) so you can confirm though - I am not sure "I was told so on PH" would stack up if you are wrong......

You may be thinking of the EU regulations on warranty conditions and you would be correct; there is nothing a manufacturer can do to stop you using a third-party for servicing if maintaining full warranty is the only concern.

However, you are not just required to keep the car maintained, you also have to comply with the lease agreement which I'm almost certain will stipulate that you must use franchised dealers. Remember, it's not 'your' car, it's theirs.

Check your lease agreement though. Simple.

Looking carefully over my own agreement, I believe you are right.

Nope, as technically it's not yours. Merely leasing it for the duration having signed their T&C's for usage.
Nearly all leases seem to require dealer servicing unfortunately.
