Picked him up yesterday, 10 weeks old and full of life.

Meet Acer,

First night was very quiet, no whining, already toiletting on pads and no accidents at all, currently playing fetch with his new toys.

Any cockerpoo owners wish to share tips as this is the 1st cockerpoo we have owned.

We call ours (Boots) a spoodle as her mum was a field spaniel rather than a cocker, dad was a miniature poodle, had her from a pup. She's now four and has been an absolute delight from day one. You've got good times ahead.

We have two Cockerpoo's - one is 6 years old, the other is 4 and a bit. First dogs I've had so nothing to compare them to but they seem like normal dogs and we haven't noticed anything that is Cockerpoo specific - just the usual dog things that you get with most dogs.

They're quite different in character though, as one seems to be more Poodle like and the other more Spaniel like. Harvey, the Poodle like dog, is quiet and laid back and mainly interested in his next meal or treat - and not going for walks in the rain. Stanley is a bit more boisterous and dog like but has calmed down a lot lately. He has had a few issues, but Harvey didn't have them so don't think the issues are common to all Cockerpoos.

They have both been great fun and still are so I'm sure Acer will be just the same.

This is Harley, our Cockapoo puppy. Having a fair bit of trouble with him barking at night/if we're out but slowly making progress ... I think

We have 2, four year brother and sister, lovely dogs with character. They are lively, but probably we should have just got one as they do wind each other up and they do like to bark, tried to stop this but with no success. They love to swim and chase sticks and balls. We clip them twice a year.

Acer looks like Hugo did as a pup, enjoy.

What is it with naming crossbreeds as if they're an actual breed, i don't get it confused

Every breed at some point has been a cross.

Yes but not usually in living memory and not as a designer feature, they've either been selectively bred or have evolved that way.

barking at night hasnt been an issue in the 2 weeks we have had him as he just seems to want to sleep.

Hes put on half a kilo in the last 2 weeks, vet has checked him over and all is good, little bit of kennel cough but nearly cleared up last injection yesterday so he will be out next week.

Chip injected yesterday and all tick and might treatment carried out so hes ready for the big wide world.

Have you heard the saying "every dog thinks its a wolf'.
Man has created dog types, just because they could for thousands of years.
I had a look on google and there are a number of recent new breeds.
Strangely enough though, cockerpoos haven't been around long enough for them to be a recognized breed, will happen in time.
