Is there a way to programme a 'turn by turn' route into my TomTom Go 550 Live?

I've got the TomTom route planner up on the laptop with my device attached. But, all it seems to do is give me the "best" route. I can't see any option to build the route myself. Am I missing something?

I remember being involved in a local meet which had a run before hand. The run organiser would email the chosen route to the participants - a route that he had built. So that everyone could follow its twists and turns.

I never went on a run. So, I didn't pay any attention of how it worked.

Any help would be most appreciated as I want to build a particular route for Mrs Blib to follow. One that the device would not suggest.

Thanks for your help.

There are a number of programs that can do this, but TYRE is the one favoured by me and many others. It's a free download although you can pay for extra features.

Feel free to PM me if you'd more detailed help.

Hey Plenty!

Obviously, it was you that I was referring to. Shame I was too (sensible) old to join in the runs. We really must arrange another London meet.

Thanks for your help, mate. I'll check it out.

OK, I've built the route and I think that I've transferred it to the sat-nav (tyre says it has done the transfer). However, I can't find it on the device

Where is it located?

Select "Itinerary planning" from the device menu. Then choose "Load itinerary" and you should be able to open the file you've just created.
