I thought the last of the Pre-impact models were 1989, unless I suppose this was sitting in a garage unregistered till 1990

The latest impact bumper I have come across was on a G reg, so 89 - 90 would cover it. Like you say, maybe one or two were only registered in 1990. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon.

Is there an ad for it then?
Could have been stored unregistered. I used to have a Brooklands Capri which were all D and E plates, a few F's but there is 1 G plate, the dealer refused to reduce the price of the car, until someone bought it in Nov 89. So a pretty rare car as a result.

You mean this one:

It does say it was first registered in 1990 in the ad!

Very nice looking motor. Big price tho. I suppose If you want the exclusivity of a one off G plate SSE your going to pay a premium, it will always hold its value.
