As a result of the recent rain and wind, I am the proud owner of a soggy (and very heavy!) drivers door mat.
Certainly not obvious where water is getting in, it seems to be worse at the front of the footwell near the bulkhead, rather than a door / window seal issue - but I am not sure why it would only affect one side.

Has anyone else experienced this - and even better has a suggestion to fix.

No idea where the drain holes are, but have not had a good look in the light yet.

It happens on some of the cars particularly the earlier ones a dealer should fix this for you, I had a water leak in the boot but that was quickly sorted ( its not just lotus I had something very similar on the wife's Golf)

Thanks for that... have some parts on order for warranty items, so will add this to the list.

Mine is in for a leak on the pax side. Like yours I can't see where it is coming from exactly and the door seal looks fine. Thank goodness for a warranty. smile

Had this very same problem on my son's Punto Grande, turned out to be the A/C drain tub detached from the condenser. This can dump a conserable amount of water especially if the A/C is working hard....for example when I was driving my Evora in the South of France earlier this year, stopped to pick up some fuel and returning to the car there was a stream of water pouring out from underneath. At first I panicked, thought my rad had blown! but quickly realised it was the A/C drain. Of course this may not be the cause of your particular problem, but it is worth noting just for for the record.

had the same problem... had door seals changed under warranty-- made mo difference:-(
took the car to the dealer 3 times and they didnt get it sorted. Took it to a body shop and he found it was the door cards-- modified them and now its sorted:-)

Interesting. I lifted my mat up to dry it out. With all the sound deadening its like a huge sponge. I couldn't believe how much water came out!

Sorted now. Something to do with the door membrane. Just needs new drop links and a headlight now apparently.

Mine I have noticed has a loose headlight...and the first MOT is due before the 7th of Jan so hopefully this will be resolved under warranty. Are loose headlights (from new I guess) a known issue with some cars??

Not heard of it. I just needed a new one as 2 of the LEDs had failed in the sidelights. I hadn't noticed but B&C did.

Pissed off. Dealer STILL can't fix water leaks after multiple attempts. In January I came back to find a frozen puddle the size of my hand on the OS sill. The NS is better but still leaking. I feel like I am getting pissed off with my car but I'm not, I am really getting pissed off with the dealer for being too useless to fix the issue (And being stupid about other issues too.) Not happy atm frown
