It's hugely impressive car control and I enjoy watching his videos but there's always something in the back of my mind that says "let's see how you get on flat out in the mountain roads of Greece or a wet, muddy forest in Wales".

It's the same with motocross freestyle, watching someone backflip a bike like that must take massive balls but I'll always be most impressed by the fastest riders.

Bloke drives Fiesta sideways in car park. I enjoyed watching Mk 2 Escorts getting properly sideways on the RAC Rally last weekend rather more. Sound a lot better too...

He is still a half decent rally driver though - pretty impressive for a CEO of a shoe company.

He tried that but it didn't end well...

He is a good driver no doubt but compared to someone like loeb he is an amateur imo

But he's now more of a drift/ stunt driver with a bit of rallying too, isn't he? He doesn't claim to be a rally legend.

Is this not like saying to Mr Bolt that while we admire his sprinting we'd like to see him attempt hurdles?

He's never said he's the best or anything like that. He doesn't go out his way to force himself down folks throat.

As stated, CEO of a shoe company doing his own rallying and such having a good time, which one of us wouldn't do similar?! I'm not a big fan but the guy is a legend IMHO.

It's like top gear, take it for what it is, car based entertainment, or watch country file

I'm with you on this. It makes no sense for people to knock Block for what he does. It's not racing, it doesn't even resemble racing, he doesn't claim it's racing. It's just having a laugh, isn't it? So why the 'challenge' to Rally? Because his car looks like a Rally car? Come on.

Oh good, ken c*ck is back to his messing around antics. With roads black from the tyre marks of all his practices and videos stitched together from a million takes and all to help sell some shoes and energy drink. Any rally driver could do this stuff, but most seem more interested in winning rallies than advertising shoes so tend not to. A look at kens rather lacklustre rally career demonstrates that rallying isn't as much of a forte for him as selling shoes.

I love a good car video but kens antics got boring after about the second one of his videos (possibly the one in the Fiesta that he slides onto the oval circuit hitting the concrete perimeter within about 30 seconds of it beginning - nice car control!). Think I might go and watch some classic WRC clips on YouTube and appreciate some proper driving!

Would you rather see shoe adverts with a man holding a shoe, or a car sliding about, going mad and having fun?

I'd rather see one like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bNgRsYp9IY But that's just me. Or if you want to use car driving as a platform for selling shoes get in a better driver.

This is true, he's terrible rolleyes

Get in a gifted professional, not a guy who started from the bottom, worked up his business and uses it to have fun.

No doubt there are better drivers but they aren't doing this. Just because it involves a rally like car and he tried the WRC (With his own money) doesn't make him a competitor. I'd also like to see most folk that complain attempt the things that he does.

Shun him all you like, he's living most folks childhood dreams.

It's nice to see one of his videos where there aren't a tonne of tyre marks from previous runs. Looks almost like he did it in one take here (I would still be surprised if he did).

Although I assume he did have practice runs so they must have had the same course set up elsewhere.

I get the point you make. I don't knock him for having fun or having a bash at rallying or whatever - I'm sure given his wealth I would too. But I wouldn't be shouting about it with internet videos all the time - and if I had to I'd at least try and edit a few more of the mistakes out. To me the gymkhana thing is about a demonstration of absolute car control and I think he lags behind many other professional drivers in that respect. I've seen a few demonstrations by Russ Swift which impressed me much more than someone doughnutting round a pole. If his videos amuse people then fair enough, but personally I just find his videos a formulaic demonstration of sliding a car about. Give me one of Chris Harris's videos over that any day.

I know what you mean but at the end of the day, he is the millionaire making these hehe I have a lot of respect for him, more so that little mistakes are left in, the tyre marks are there etc. He doesn't pretend that he's the best things since sliced bread.

Anyone that says he's the best driver ever isn't the kind of person to chat to cars about wink I also think it's a good bit of inspiration for younger folk, go out there, put your ideas forward etc and you could be doing this!

Whilst I agree his former efforts did indeed look like he had practiced lots before hand, witnessed by all the black lines on the road, I saw none of this on this effort, and therefore i find it more impressive still ...
Maybe you should have watched it first before commenting on it.
