I'll certainly explain, with an analogy. Suppose you had a Bugatti Veyron. It sounds like a beast, goes like stink and nothing on the road will touch it. However, you don't think its looks match it's capabilities so you have it repainted...in candy - apple metallic paint with pearlescent highlights; you choose cerise, with lime green highlights. Now, perhaps you'll explain wtf a tattoo has to do with her vocal talent and how the latter has a bearing on the superfluousness of the former.
Every so often I'm reminded (not just on PH) of how judgemental and intolerant people can be.

All but the colour blind and those with absolutely no taste think the effect is completely unnecessary and rather spoils something that was near perfect anyway.
Of course, the car goes and sounds as well as it ever did, which is fortunate. In this case, you can't ever remove the bad paint, though you can cover it temporarily with poster paint.

If it hadn't been on display you wouldn't have seen it to be able to mention it meaning your comment would've been solely about her voice.
