I can't understand him in the hospital- did he say he has internal injuries from the fall? What are the currents/traffic like at that part of the Thames?

Yep, I've watched it a couple of times now. He could have easily moved to the right, I'm sure though he was just caught by surprise and expected the wagon to stop. Looking at his headcam footage though, it's clear there's no way the driver could see him. probably glanced across before turning into the street and had one eye on the old dear with the pram.
