Talk to Dave at DJ Autos. 01256 701273. He will repair rather than just replace, and has always looked after me and various friends.

Cheers for the suggestions. Considering whether to play timing chain roulette with a £1200 Corsa. Reckon a change would be in the £200-£300 range on a car we want to sell in the next 6 months.

Very reasonable rates and won't rip you off.

Hi, are these recommendations still current? I find myself far from home with a rear brake issue on a 2002 CRV and lack the tools or opportunity to do the work myself before we head back to Leeds on Friday.

I possibly need a new rear caliper, discs and pads due to a seized brake cracking up on the way down.

Any local advice appreciated.

Not sure if this is any help! Where are you also?

I have never used these people and they are in Fleet. Reason for the link is they seems to call themselves Honda Specialist on the sign outside but not there website.

I have also hear good things about TGM Sport so also worth a call http://www.tgmsport.co.uk/

Again not used them before.

Whoops, missed the time warp. Tony's still there, looks after our fleet of aging vans.

Tony has saved the day (although part of me was hoping Peppa Pig World might be called off) - the heap goes in tomorrow and he's lending me a car. Seems like the kind of nice chap I like to deal with.

Thanks again.

Hope all goes well OP.

PS - a hint of what you need in the header might be useful (like "mechanic for Corsa C" - I've heard of a good BMW technician in Farnham and have used a great one in Camberley, but they probably wouldn't be your best choice for what you want)!

+1 for TGM. They're Honda specialists (used to look after my S2000) but since then they've done bits on my Clio and Monaro. Trustworthy guys.
