this thread is most certainly the most interesting thing on the internet.thanks for making the effort. the total hours machining of components must be huge .great to see in today,s world of mass production there are still people willing and capable of doing this in the UK. being pedantic i would prefer the surfaces finished after machining, even a 2000 grit finish looks better than tool cutting marks ,though i appreciate function over form.
the carbon fibre parts are works of art,and the entire project is fantastic.it is an entire world away from the american efforts.the reason most of american top class racing gear is made in the UK is plain to see here. despite the level of expertise involved it still looks like a bunch of lads having a ball.i wish you all the very best, and look forward to having my mind blown at the sight of a car doing 1000 mph , i know its only a number, but bloody hell ,ONE THOUSAND MILES PER HOUR !

Not necessarily. Nearly everything in aviation is imperial, even Airbus.
Not quite true, they have structural fasteners manufactured in metric sizes also.
Well, the Russians still prefer Metric!

Thanks, not seen that before. It didn't look like it had many more runs left in it the way the speed was pulling it apart. What amazed me was how much steering input was needed to keep a straight line, Mr Green you have balls of steel smile

Had a great phone interview with an American radio station last night, 90mins long, to be aired on a show called The Wheel Men Show once it's edited & my mindless ramblings are sorted. The guys were really enthusiastic about the project said they were behind Bloodhounds above the yank efforts.

Likely to underspeed slightly on acceleration & overspeed slightly on deceleration due to the inertia & rate of change of velocity of the car.
