There was just a little news clip on NBN Australia about the Aussies effort vs Bloodhound.

Talking about how the POM's think the record is their right. I only caught the very end, so I don't know much of the Ozzy project. It showed Insight's beautiful face though. The Ozzy project looked to be running off a lower budget.

Might have lied, might have been 9 News. This one is labeled Perth news, but it appears to run the same as the clip I saw on the East Coast.

Seems like the chap has good banter, best of luck to them, although you have to have them down as underdogs. smile

Joel said: "Now I definitely want to be an engineer. I used to want to be a footballer but this is much better."
And that's why the Bloodhound project is so ace.

What a weirdly written article... they focussed on andy being chief of operations in libya for the raf, not the rather pertinent, and story specific, fact that he is the fastest man on the planet.... strange

Nice to see a direct correlation between the bloodhound project and a young person getting turned on by engineering

Trial assy of the rear delta is going on today.

Rear suspension lower wishbone lives inside this aluminium structure that is Ti skinned.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but what's the differential expansion between the Ti skin and Al body?
Assuming 0 C night time and 40 C daytime, at a guess.

What project would be complete without some plywood & MDF mocking up, in this case the winglet actuator mechanism.

Fin skinning is coming on well too with the boys from Crash & Bash (71 Squadron).

My god, the jig is a work of art in it's own right. But answer me this, did you make a jig, to make the jig?? if so, at which jig did you not make a jig to make it?

'Rapid' is relative in this case.
