Need a bit of convincing...

Bit of a long one, sorry. This isn't so much a what car thread as a yep it it will (hopefully) thread. Right I need a new daily, the C-class C200 cdi that I've had for the past 7-ish months is driving me up the wall, I can't stand the damned thing, the biggest thing annoying me the is - it's an oil burner, its shear weight, iffy throttle response (not quick enough on the uptake for me i.e. a slight pause of power application) and the relative lack of feel through the steering and the overall car (not to mention the amount of gadgets and sensors on it, finding out there's a level sensor in the windscreen washer bottle was the final straw).
What I want is a naturally aspirated V6 in my life (or frankly any NA petrol engine), slight drawback is that I do about a 300 mile commute a week, the vast majority of it on dual carriage (I can generally average 50-60 barring a few snarl ups around the A1 and A19 and various roundabouts). I've had a 350z Roadster in my sights for a while (OK while it probably isn't any lighter it does have more oomph
) and here's where the convincing comes into play, can one of these actually average 30? after all I don't want it costing me a third of my wage packet a month on fuel alone (a hundred quid a week thirst would just about do it).
My old 15 year old Rover Coupe 1.8VVC managed it, regardless of how I drove it
and is currently undergoing a bit of TLC (and a bit of an engine fix as a sprocket on cylinders 1 & 2's camshaft shredded itself but miraculously did little damage, though finding replacement for said sprocket is turning out to be a bit hard).
I've about ooo... £9K-£10K (including the Merc's trading in value of about £6.5K) to spend. Others I've looked at are the Z4 Roadster (3ltr of course, though the majority don't have the sport seats that I really want) and the S1 Elise (looked at the VX220 but its visual appeal just doesn't do anything for me, I'd like to walk away from the car after I get to work look back and smile). Other suggestions are welcome though (OK so there's a bit of what car thread with just a hint of where could I find the part I need thrown in for good measure).
