1.) Ride 100km (will probably have a crack at this early in the new year)
2.) Get myself into the top 10% of of a couple of decent local hill segments on Strava
3.) Complete this: http://www.cyclechallenge.com/bike-races-nz/bike-b... (160km around a rather big lake).
4.) Lose a couple more kilos
5.) Do over 6000kms for the year.

I've already invested in the latest titanium utensils and bought the sufferfest video of Nigella Lawson!!
If you're using a Nigella recipe won't your flapjacks result in some kind of doping scandal?

Buy a road bike
Do a couple of century milers
Do the Dunwich Dynamo (maybe!)
Beat this years total of 2500 miles (which itself is 700 more than last year)
..and hopefully lose a few more lbs into the bargain

I've kinda taken to this cycling lark wink

Currently doing about 110-120 miles a week so looking to increase that to 150 next year
Booked up for the 3 pistes Sportive,
Want to do the Bealach na Bà with a couple of mates
Would also like to do a loop round Mull, a loop round Skye and also Lochinver & Assynt

That should kill my passion for cycling

Complete a double century (miles not the continental metric nonsense)

Break 4.5 hours for a century ride (4 hours 46 mins was fastest this year)

Lose 7lbs which seems to have appeared from nowhere

Hit good enough shape to go cx racing in the autumn.
I don't mind coming last so long as I'm able to fight for last place....

Giving some serious though to doing mk-paris-mk (club organised ride, with support vehicles etc) but not sure I'll hit good enough shape in time...

I did that in June last year - thread about it here. Any questions, just shout biggrin (or hopefully the thread helps!)

There's a lot of serious goals on here! I have only been riding for a matter of months really but next year I want to be a bit more structured with a training plan and make the most of my eagerly anticipated Boardman Team Carbon:

My challenges are:

1. London to Brighton
2. Round Isle of Wight
3. London to Amsterdam

Just signed up for the H4H Dawn Raid, 100 Miles. At least the start is 500 Meters from my house so I will not have to get up too early.

That's one down. 108kms, at quite a pleasing average speed of 29.6 km/hr (wasn't expecting anything near that) wink

Looking to improve on this year really.

1. Podium at the London Singlespeed Championship.
2. Top 10 at the Torq In Your Sleep 12h solo.
3. Top 10 Bontrager TwentyFour12 Torchbearer Solo.
4. 2x Sub 11 hour South Downs Way rides, once in each direction, with a view to doing a sub 24h double the following year eek

They all should be do-able, just need to get my finger out and keep the training going through the winter.
So how did you get on last weekend? I managed 3rd in the 24hr mixed pairs. I was just starting my 9th lap as the torchbearers set off so if you were racing, you would have passed me probably going up Cliff Climb.

So far so good.
I went one better than getting on the podium at the London Singlespeed Champs and won beer

24/12 I managed a 6th place in the Torchbearer. I probably could have gone a bit harder but I only managed 3 hours sleep the night before and wasn't really properly prepared with bottles and food for the race.
I felt wiped out from the heat on Saturday and I wasn't even racing, god only knows show the riders were coping. I was pitting for a 24h solo rider and he really struggled with the heat.

Well done on 3rd in the Pairs, you must be pretty happy with that?

Next stop for me is the Torq In Your Sleep on August Bank Holiday weekend and I can't wait!
