Im getting my late fathers Morgan 4/4 ready to sell and the alternator has gone on it. Its a 1986 model and it has the code - Ford alternator 80bb10316aa. Tried various part shops and they cant locate one. Looked on ebay and found one in Germany which isnt ideal. Any other solutions? Thanks

The part number you quote is the Regulator not the alternator itself.

Alternative part numbers for Ford ALTERNATOR REGULATOR 80BB10316AA
INTERMOTOR 6171,
Motorola 505-31, 505-32.
EGR310.
AUDI/VW 036903803
MAGNETI MARELLI 940038148
LUCAS 21229048 21229142 UCB501

It is a very common part.

If you were to buy a complete new alternator, then it would come with a new regulator (as one)
Sometimes a regulator can be replaced on it's own if that is the problem, and the rest of the alternator is OK.

The alternator part number you need is LRA 100. ( Lucas)

Other substitutes are available.

This is an uprated one

Hi,
I managed just to get my one from a local motor factor as most still stock them or can order one in, was £69.

Good luck with fitting it, It depends on each car, but my one was a very tight fit, I had to take the exhaust manifold off to get it out and the replacement in. Hopefully you will be more lucky.

Remember to reuse the old pully fitting as it might be a different size from the replacement.

What spec is the car?
