You can still see the patina of the metal underneath.

Will tell you tomorrow if it turns out ok. And what i bought for it tonight on Ebay in anticipation.
Yes, it was a good trip and purchase this afternoon. A nice 2.3 turbo Saab 9-5 auto estate, leather seats with bum heaters (it's going to be my wife's car), service book with a complete set of 15 stamps, one for each 6,500 miles covered, and all for £875. Wife well pleased, apart from having to drive it home in the dark from M25-land.

Oh, ok, a photo then.....

Thinking I was going to buy a different one, that lacked it's double DIN stereo, I bought a stereo head unit complete on Ebay, for 99p!
This one needs the LED strip that fits above the stereo, so back to Ebay for me..... hehe

She's well pleased.
I agree it comes from 1999, during the GM ownership period, but it hadn't been genetically modified at that stage - everything is well over-engineered still is true Saab style.

It has one of the most comfortable driving seats I/we have ever had (we have had two of these before) and a surprisingly torquey 170 bhp turbo engine - it's a superb overtaking barge.
Like all barges, it will take the grand-kids in the back, her and her daughter in the front (both are bum heater addicts) and the dogs, luggage and/or daughter's wheelchair in the tailgate, all easy access and with room to spare.

Only job for me to do is refresh the top LED strip on the dash, which is a few pixels short of a picnic.
It was only MOT'd in December and serviced 1500 miles ago, it's been well looked after by the retired gent who bought it as an ex-company car in 2004.

Back to the plot - TVR gone in for service, springs upgrade, Iridium 6 plugs and MOT today. So far it has failed the MOT on handbrake - an appendage which I never use, so it's probably my fault. But then it had the MOT first, so that the engine was still warm. At least the chassis/outriggers passed.

Don't forget that the handbrake should be tested on the road with one of those thingymeters in the footwell.

If my tester ever bothers with this, I drive and squeeze the brake peddle gently while applying the handbrake, works a treat smile

Thanks, I will mention this to his Mat-ness. I seriously doubt the tester did this.

I bought some manifolds off of Rib last year as one of mine are cracked, finally pulled my finger out and got them blasted..

Was just going to slot the bottom bolt holes, but the grinder was right next to the polisher so I wasted an hour giving myself an arm ache hehe

Going to paint the pipes and maybe wrap the top one to stop the melty HT leads..

Painted mine and fitted them last weekend, used a couple cans of VHT spray paint. Paint till looks exactly the same as it did when hanging on the manifold tree, sort of a satin/matte black biggrin
