Nice work Anthony. What was wrong with Matt's car after Snetterton? Clearly got it sorted. It's Snetterton next?
He had some faulty new components in the newly built (refreshed) engine. Broke after less than 100 miles.
He stripped it down, found the problem, got the replacements and rebuilt it, all in double quick time.

Yes, I believe it is Snetterton next. He knows that circuit, so it should give him a chance to concentrate more on improving his driving and tactics. He was very consistent at Rockingham, clocking the same lap time lap after lap. It's now down to more time in the seat and improving his technique and speed through the corners. A really talented whippersnapper was about four seconds a lap faster in an identical car, all down to faster corner exit speeds apparently (not the 50 kilo weight advantage getmecoat )

I am now wondering if I should get a GoPro - not for me to stare at, I am having no trouble sleeping, but for Mat to see how it should(n't) be done. My next TD is Mallory Park this Thursday, and it is the venue for the DTEC meeting after Snetterton, I believe.

Tried a repair to the windscreen stone chip with a product from Laser. See if it works.
Huh? See if what works?

Tried it, so did it work or not?
To fill and hide the chip - which it did - and to see if it stops the tiny line radiating out from the chip. So far it hasn't got worse.

Sorry, but your perception of how these chips are repaired is misguided, and buying/using that kit hasn't helped.

No, went the traditional air matrix route in the end; a 19 row Mocal fed by sandwich plate but unconventionally laying down and let into the flat cross-panel that lies in front of the radiator. The way I have mounted it also allows additional air to the turbo inlet so kills two birds
Nice one wink essentail kit I would imagine now cool just sorting odds and ends before the motor goes in then remembered my gearbox mounts had seen better days so bagged a pair of genuine g/box mounts no longer available so I am told frown I do like a bit of OE equipment

Finally got the charge cooler in and out temperature probes reading steady credible figures for more than 2 minutes (SPA dual gauge)... effectively screened the thermocouple amplifiers and signal cables with good old tinfoil, and rerouted the run into the cabin to avoid any 'coiling' of surplus length (moulded on plugs so not easy to shorten) - Good 30-35C difference across the cooler being consistently seen with temps into the plenum within a degree or two of ambient with the pump running. Now, if I can crack the bloody fuel gauge, will be happy at last (only been 18 months of sodding about with the things) smokin

Are you using the original TVR tank sender?

The resistance works back to front for most gauges, could that be your problem?

I had this in reverse as I use a more conventional resistance sender on my bottom LPG tank, it just wouldn't play ball with the TVR gauge.

The solution for me was a fuel gauge wizard, the solution for you could be as simple as replacing to oddball back to front resistance TVR sender with a conventional resistance one with the correct wand length?

Just a guess based on my own findings & frustrations.

Decided to get a draught excluder to replace the old towel I was using in the hood when folded down. Got this one, being patriotic.

Disconnected the rear ARB to try and find out what the strange cracking sort of noise is coming from the middle rear of the car it seems.

took for a test drive and noise still there.

Strange, I can't find a thing wrong.

Any suggestions ?
