What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
I had the cap on mine start to leak on a track day - hot brake fluid all over the inner wing paint. Brake fluid makes excellent paint stripper, especially when hot.
The fault on mine was the sealing rings under the cap - got a replacement cap off a 1999 Ford (Focus I think it was) from a scrapyard, as it was nearest. The new part is available from all Ford dealers for about £19.

I hope the build is going well Barrie.
After Curborough last week, I checked the brakes and refitted the road wheels.
Nothing else to do, the car is running like clockwork.
Hi Peter. Waiting for the short engine to be built, 4.8ltr with forged pistons and cross bolted crank. Been spending money at Real Steel, adjustable pushrods, Mcleod twin plate clutch, flywheel to suit, set of head studs and studs for the exhaust manifold. Heads are to be sent away for some further work. Get all that is needed together ready for the build. After Curborough last week, I checked the brakes and refitted the road wheels.

I spent the afternoon with roverguage to see if I can get to the bottom of my pinking. Some rather strange results I will need some assistance interpreting!
I came across an email from the guy to whom I loaned my 4 litre ECU. He should be posting it back to me soon. You are welcome to try it in your car to see in 5 minutes flat if the mapping of yours is the problem.connected the vacuum pipe from the FPR to the plenum (missed that one, car was overfuelling like hell on low revs)
connected the new throttle pot replacing the duff one
burned a new chip with a map I got from Joolz to suit the bigger AFM and my 4.6 build (added some pops and bangs to the map
car really flies now! The 4.6 with some trick parts is sweet as a nut

One of these would just finish it off nicely, Bobfather. A nice single piece of billet alloy, turned on a lathe by a man in Wales.
Or one of these to complement your very fine painting skills.http://www.leventechnology.co.uk/products/oil-fill...
