What did you do in the garage yesterday?

Just fitted my new ACT air induction pipe.
Bit off a fight so I removed N/S headlight inspection cover and also unscrewed same side indicator to allow better access,,
I also removed the clamp that holds the filter in place,,, a bit of twisting and a dab of washing up liquid hear and there,, some arm scratches but it all went together easy enough.
As I no longer use an AFM I ordered a longer length of heat shield and it's a perfect fit.
Car sounds even quieter!!!
Ithe rubber is quite an impressive thickness so should last a few decades.
I thought it would look a bit nasty but I actually quite like it.
A good buy

It's good to see a guy who can man up and fit something long and rubber, however much lubrication it needs,
however many bits he has to remove,
and however many scratches he gets in the process.
Just out of passing interest, was said article acquired from a company in London......or from a country on your recent travels?
Changed the fuel pump and filter (as recommended) and after a brisk drive Sunday evening, still the shunting remains with a quarter throttle....
Fuel pressure regulator the next step and if the issues remains, I will be coming on here asking for more advice!
(Done the usual stuff, dizzy, leads, plugs, stepper, rah rah rah!)
Nosh
PS - took the Chim out when I got my hair cut on Sunday morning - car was running bl00dy awful!! When I got home and started to work on the car to change the fuel pump / filter, spotted a HT lead not plugged onto the top of a spark plug (I removed it the previous day whilst tightening up the manifold bolts) - no wonder it was ruff!!

This weekend I picked my car up from Sportmotive having had the light bodywork damage repaired (metal box fell on it on the old garage about 5 years ago) and later style lights fitted and brought it home to the new place in Wales.
Really happy with the finish and Ian even gave me some money back as he's found the job easier than expected. Top man and excellent workmanship.
Happy bunny!

Washed the Skoda and took the chim for a run roof off.
Coming back in the evening I could see this might be the last roof off drive with wifey due to the fact that us Surrey types get chilly easily

Took ten hours to fit the first seat, trying to keep my full harnesses for track days and work out how to fix the seats, and on which runners and bolts. Bolts on the seat runners too short and bent.
Rang DC Trim for advice, when I found the initials "DW" on the base of the seats. Friendly and good advice - get the drill out and drill large holes in the fibreglass under the seat to get access to the front seat runner nuts.
Bolts successfully changed for 4 inch M8s at the front and short M8s at the rear, and then holes drilled through the floor in front of the cross-outriggers, and through the outrigger corner plates. Seats now fixed to something solid at last.
Gave up on my harness fixings (will return to them later) and got the driver's seat fitted.
Passenger seat took less than 90 minutes.

Pretty much the two best and certainly the most undervalued British classic cars there.
I've been seriously looking into buying a Rover P5B Coupe to complement my TVR.
Absolutely fantastic car choices Alan
Thanks All.I've been seriously looking into buying a Rover P5B Coupe to complement my TVR.

Have had the P5B 15 years and pretty much had every nut and bolt off it at one stage or another and had the Chim 10 years and actually done relatively little to it although I'm sure that will change over the course of the next few years.
If you are seriously considering a P5B Coupe then now would be the time to buy. They are just beginning to climb in value - Very slowly! I'm convinced they're waiting until the day after I sell mine.
If you need any advice on buying one Dave, feel free to give me a shout. I was hoping to have a chat with you about Ol' Gasbag at the Neil Garner open day but you hadn't arrived when I first wandered over to talk to the Lloyd boys and I ran out of time while Daz was with you until I had to leave.
Compared to my old garage (10 metres by 5 metres) this one is a bit cramped but I'm hoping to convert the carport once I'm earning again which will give me the whole existing garage as a storage for one car and workshop.
Sunday afternoon went for a blast up the A1(M) and turned off for Ripon. Bloody car cut out with the world's fastest 3.5 tonner up my ar*e. A nice man, a very nice man recovered me home.
After 21 years of sterling duty, one of the Lucas fuel pump terminals had corroded so replaced with a Bosch one - 0580464008 - from Eurocarparts for £76.38.
First breakdown recovery in 45 years.....
