testarossa thread

Anyone up for a testarossa, 512TR and M variant thread.
Opinions, owners views, photos from the present but best of all Past! Photos from back in the day from motor shows, car shows from home and abroad. Advice, appreciation, discussion, facts and figures.
The countach has a thread all of its own, the testarossa is just as worthy.

I was lucky enough to have my car featured in Autoitalia and make front cover. This happened on the day of collection! I had access to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit for 2-3 hours and had only owned the car for 5 mins. It was early November and pure blue sunshine, I have rarely felt so lucky.

Didn't make it to the polo club thing, new bambino was filling up a lot of spare time.

The track is not it's natural environment, so took it easy but it was for a great cause. It was an interesting introduction to the car and the dog leg gear box. The sound however was great without the stock exhaust.

Rev your car looks hard as nails, Darth Vader on four wheels.
I have only driven mine on the test circuit at brooklands but did drive a Rossa on a larger track a few years ago in Leceister. I had a superb 911 at the time and found it really hard working the larger testarossa around the circuit. It was no where near as quick from a lap time point of view, however, there a then I swore I'd get a Rossa and haven't looked back since

LY99 she's pretty! Got anymore photos from the ad? Welcome to testarossa ownership, I suppose like me you are dry storing until spring and better weather? I have mine on a trickle charge and sitting in a carpeted garage, yes only the best for the Rossa, carpet!

I was in a 430 the year before so it was a bit of a culture shock, although the bigger brakes and modern tyres helped a lot hence the standard alloys have been switched out to 18" 360 ones. If you've not already ditch the standard exhaust it was turned down for the us market.

The exhaust was done some time ago. It's handmade in full polished stainless, have straight tubes as cat bypass and I run the car with a K&N air filter and it sounds epic.
I also had another Ferrari before this one, but nothing as quick as a 430. I had a 1987 328 GTS, stunning looking car but they do not have the same performance or anywhere near the road presence of a testarossa.

The rear certainly fills the road, the capristo sounds good but there's still time to play with. Bypass and K&N air filter sounds interesting, I bet it adds to the drama but I wonder if the locals will start sending hate mail?

No problems with the locals, last year a guy across the way had a Lamborghini Diablo SE on a sports pipe, you could hear that for literally miles.

Only picked her up in October - it was the perfect spec for me, tidy, well looked after but not a low mileage garage queen, so when the warmer weather is upon us I wont be afraid to use her. De-cat Tubi exhaus,t original car cover and a luggage set thrown in did it for me!! Shes tucked away for the winter now along with my vx220. Did my routine two week engine start ups yesterday.

Mine at Wilton House this year on the EFG concours lawn. The car got an invite which was great but also great for the "testarossa" in general. The car is coming of age and really held its own on the day.
LY99 nice option with the luggage set, very expensive and rare item.
