Speedcamera warnings on my Sirius 2000 Sat Nav / Scam warning gizmo used to alert me only to speedcameras that are a threat.

Now it warns of scams on both sides of the road even on dual carriageways. Customer services at Snooper first of all advertised that as a 'new feature' (NOT!)

Now they say new EU legislation means they MUST issue the alert for both directions even if the scam is not a threat.

Am thinking of going to POGO ALERT (they have a sat nav version too now). Anyone know if this is a genuine change to the law and if the POGO speedcamera database will also be affected?

(All POGO's are sold out at present frown )

I think Pogo had copyrighted that. Recently Road Angel have bought the Pogo business and IP. Maybe they are enforcing it more.

The Pogo Alert+ is a good device, but the customer service is shocking now it is being handled by Road Angel.

Thanks for that. I did note that Pogo had a 'patented' directional feature and wondered if this was simply them enforcing that.

I think Pogo Alert is the way to go since the Pogodrive (sat nav version) was discontinued, which is a shame.

That means I need a good satnav.... Live traffic without smart phone link = Garmin?

I have found Garmin navigation instructions annoying (wife has one and work issue them in pool cars) since the instruction is for an obscure road name rather than route No. eg A47 might be announced as 'Norwich Road'....

Can that be adjusted?

Search out a TT 1005, I did when I realised the latest versions were a retrograde step connection wise.

Haven't used mine for a couple of years and need to get it updated although there were some problems with it picking up a satellite signal before so I stopped using it in frustration. I think those were mainly software rather than hardware issues though.

So do we just call Road Angel now?

I eventually got some help from Road Angel - they sent out some new mounts, which were "not updated" even thought they were different to the ones I originally had.

First drive out with it to test the new mounts I got done by a camera van rolleyes

I have the road angel professional and laser detector..

It's great at warning you of known locations but yet to spot a van.

Yeah, if the laser detector goes off it is too late.

Only if your the front car?

The beam would bounce of other cars and be picked up wouldn't it?
